Wow! Impressive collection. 😎👍 I got my first scalextric over 40 years ago but don't have any stuff from back then!! I still have a few later sets and cars, the goodwood chicane set and classic pit stop are about the oldest pieces I have! You have a beautiful collection, cherish it.
I inherited my first Scalextric from my brother; a couple of old 1960's gp cars and 2 Jaguar D-Types in British Racing Green. My first set of my own was the You Steer set my mum bought for me. I think I was around 8 or 9 at the time; never got properly into it until I was 14 or so. Used to save my pocket money to buy a car every month or so. When I look at the modern stuff I wish I could afford to get back into it; but it's so pricey now; 50 quid for a car and then another 20 or so to make that same car digital. Plus the 200 quid for the digital system to begin with and a new set to have the right track. Probably over a grand to get up and running with digital and 6 cars, but lovely to see all these old vintage beauties. Thank you for sharing this magnificent collection. Do you ever run them?
@@johnbower7452 I'd have a look for second hand digital components or maybe a 2nd hand digital set to get you up and running! The thing is with scalextric, it's very expensive to buy new but 2nd hand catrs and bits go very cheap! I've never felt the need to run several cars at once and I'm quite happy just racing 1 or 2 cars, a lot of my track is the older classic track I just connect up with my sport track using adapters.
superb collection, i still have my original 60s scalextric set but only one car, the cover of the box is shown at the start of this video in a picture frame
