Checking out this old 1970s style Ski-Doo Alpine 399! Excited to see if this old machine will start or not. It's an antique now, but with a little bit of work into a restore we can have this old snowmobile up and running again.

Love that you got some old iron! My first sled was a 70 skidoo Nordic 399! Will be a good reliable motor after you rebuild it and it's super easy to rebuild those 399's!

To be fair, it's stupid easy to rebuild any 2t. Pull heads, pull jugs, decide whether the bottom end needs attention, reassemble.

First things first nice to see your back doing your thing. This is the type of stuff that I like to see. Just be so much easier if everybody just went back to the old stuff that people can afford to buy lol.

I had two Alpines with 640 Rotax engines back in the 1980s.

You should do a complete reseal on that motor, 20 years of sitting does not serve crank seals well.

The Alpine in 72 had a 640 cc engine the Valmont had a 399 engine the Alpine was a long track type and the Valmont a shorter track and frame Not sure of the Alpine had a 399 in 70

I think you have that backwards, ski doo stole more ideas than anyone else in the industry. Other than being the first with a recreational sled and the rubber track ski doo didnt have a clue. Oh I guess the stand up platform.
