I loved the gathering you had with your friends. Maybe you could introduce them? The woman who was quietly entering your video was really funny. Liked all of the thrift picks and what you did with the fabrics! The plaid skirt reminded me of the skirts that I wore in high school that were just like that. Yes, I am old!! LOL...Thanks!
I introduced almost all of them in a vlog from last month, and would have done that again, but the group kind of broke up so quickly! You'll see a couple of them (including Emily, the one who snuck up behind me) in my next vlog as well, and I'll be sure to introduce them then. :)
I am cleaning out my house, and found a basket of old material that I’ve bought for projects, but never got to, since I’m not a sewer. So I gave them all to my neighbor who quilts, she can either use them for her projects or as most quilters I know they always want good cottons
The best thing about buying and wearing vintage, you don't have to worry about your clothes going out of fashion before you can get the wear out of them. Fast fashion can be out of date just weeks after you buy it.
Finding fabric in the thriftshop or on flea markets is the best! At this point I always look for colours I'm likely to wear - a few years ago I found a very, very colourful plaid. Way too bright for me now I think, but I love colourful lining, so that's probably were it will end up XD I feel your dissapointment in the plaid fabric, but the skirt looks great. And that bunny print is adorable!
I love the 'winter-skirt", it reminded me of all The plaidskirts I got from my grandma and always used with boots and treedjacker. I loved when she gave me things she didn' t use anymore and are it's because of her I love old 'things' and styles and by using them and altering them I leart how to swe and dreamt of becoming a designer. Now it's longtime since I sew and altered pieces to myself and other but are longing for doing it again. For The moment I follow a lot of you RU-vids in this sfer (?) and are gattering materials and fabrics to have when I'm ready 👍😁 AMD sice You are so positiv and opem I get a lot of energi from seeing your clips. I wanted you to know how you, AT least for me, directly influence what I do in my days and where Ivm going inte my life. It's fice to be remebered about old dreams and realising that they are never to late to pic up again 🥰 I'm curious to see what, and if, The third skirt is 🤗 //Anna 🌺
Thank you so much! You should totally start sewing again. :) (And the third skirt is a yellow circle skirt, but that might wait till after I finish my Halloween costumes now.)
A good portion of my wardrobe is made out of tablecloths, curtains and sheets.... I love them. Also, it's a dead dino, but you're adding it to your wardrobe keeps it out of the landfill and that is a BIG win!
@@TheCatGodess for petticoats, my favorite is a tea-length vintage Malco modes petticoat. I think I'm going to try buying a new one pretty soon and see if it's as good as the vintage one I got at the thrift store s couple years ago. Shorts-wise, I actually buy the $10 or $12 cotton leggings from Old Navy, and cut the ends off so that they're like 4" or so above my knee. They're really good about not riding up.
so when you add vinegar and baking soda together your creating a chemical reaction that neutralizes the ph of both. So it works great if you're using a baking soda paste and then adding vinegar as part of the rinse, but soaking in both is less effective. I recommend a spay of vodka/essential oils and distilled water and some time in the sun in general. I'd generally use oxy clean in a soak for any other strong smells but I'm not 100% sure how wool and oxy clean get along.
Thank you - I didn't know that. Maybe I'll do a test on a leftover scrap with the Oxyclean. Otherwise, if the smell comes back, I'll try the vodka blend spray.
I know - I was almost relieved that we didn't take a lot of pictures! And thanks! Actually, it's funny - that blue velvet corset was the first overbust corset I ever bought (it's from corset-story) and I haven't done anything with it in years. But if it works for the dress form...?
Every time I watch you in the us do thrift hals I get so sad that is almost impossible to find used plus size clothing in my country...Thrifting in Norway is hard as a fluffy woman.
