I really loved the patterns! The last one you held up is from the 70's. My mother made a couple of jumpers for me from that pattern in the late 60's and early 70's. I kept a lot of my mother's old patterns and I'm glad I did!I love the Little Golden Books and the stamps you got too. You always seem to hit the jackpot on stamps Kim! Your nails are adorable too!🪡
Great finds. I started scrapbooking first then card making and now on to junk journaling. Here are a few you tubers that I follow that show instructions on making different kind of junk journals: My Porch Print, The Paper Outpost, Treasure Books and Thrifty Day. There are so many different ways to bind them together. I know that you will enjoy making them. I made Christmas gifts for my nieces from the Little Golden Books.
Hi Kim, Now that was very funny, stuff it, stash it and hide it. Oh mu gosh that just cracked me up. You go Kim, and I still enjoy your videos and you still find the great items. Thanks for sharing. Much Aloha
Great Haul! Love the snow people, the ice skate among other things. I highly recommend Rebecca Hoot & Thrifty Day for junk journaling. I think it just depends on what style you want. TFS! Hugs, Tia
Hey Kim! The patterns brought back a lot of good memories. My Mom was always at the sewing machine. I like your idea of using the people on the pattern. I also like using parts of the pattern itself. Tfs 😊
Make the next Craft get-away mainly about a JJ being made. Bring the images U need to color & need to make into cards for breaks if U get stumped. That box could org a special JJ. I could see U making a Summer Diary of times w/Grands. Add a sheet in-between each pg of the story. OMG, that pony can be ANY of the my little pony!!
There are SOOOO many ladies out there that do a beautiful job of little golden book junk journals.i make them for my g,'daughters(disney princesses, ect)they LOVE them!!!!!! 11 dancing dandelions is great, chasing retro, just have to find some of their older videos, and so many others.everyone takes theirs apart differently, just watch many to decide what you like best
Awesome thrift haul Kim. I love your idea of organizing...I am the same way. I was spending so much time on trying to organize there wasn't time for actually using my things. 😊 Love the snow people and skate. ❤❤😎😎
Funtastic haul! I’ll be doing another little golden book as a baby book! I will have to do a video on that book! They are easy to take apart and make the signatures.
Hi Kim, Good score on the vintage patterns. I have used the tissue patterns in gift bags. Everyone that has received a gift from me with the pattern tissue paper in the bag loved it! Just wanted to share the idea with you. Thanks for sharing your haul.
My g'daughters (little )use them to draw in ,scribble, color, ect,my older g'daughters 8,9,10.and so on write in them, do art in them, even my 5,6,7 year old.they carry them everywhere and do stuff in them in the car.they love all the pockets and tags ect
Oh Kim!! That’s terrifying you almost ran into him! I hope you are ok - I’m sure there had been some processing going on from that! Great finds at the thrift store though!! Thanks for sharing Bunches of love Noelle
SO many great junk journalers on YT using LGB! Many others have listed here. I like Lillian Guerrero, Chasing Retro, Turquoise Dreaming, Rosemary’s U Rock Art and others! OMG, I’ve been looking for that Growly Bear book forever!!! No luck.
Kim, the bodies on the patterns would be fun to stick other heads on to make your own paperdolls. Like Laura the halfass crafter, she does cool paperpeople.
@KimboKreations I just heard the name of someone who does great golden book journals. Laura got happy mail from the paper monkey and mentioned she(paper monkey) was one of the best golden journal makers. So there's another name for you if you don't know h😊er. I don't, so I am going to check her out.
I wonder if I watched the same video; the woman cut out the pictures, and even the partial pictures (as she could add a skirt or whatever in front ot the image). It is a great idea! I love nostalgic pictures. The babies will be adorable! IF you cut out the skirts and such, you can interchange the "doll's" look! I met a group of ladies at a Maryland crop that alters children's books---they are amazing! They had also discovered wax melts, and had so much fun making various wax medallions. I love that box! You got a d,eal with that marker/ink system!! That was quite a find, especially at that price! YEs, I was shocked that Michaels was self-checkout...I don't like it, I love chatting with the clerks. The snowmen are all adoralble--but the ice skate!!! I love it! I need to get myself to a thrift store, other than Goodwill, to see what is out there begging to come home with me! Thank you for sharing your finds!
Kim, I love that wooden Norm planter. A few years after my divorce, I was seeing a wonderful man name Norm. He treated me like gold. He loved helping people all the time. He passed away on his birthday z Dec 2nd, 2022, suddenly without warning. It was a massive heart attack. He refused to see a doctor for anything. That was a hard one. I’d see something for Cardmaking, show him, he would always say, here’s the $, get it. He’s gone and so is my crafting budget. Anywho, saw your box and just had to share.
I dont have a storage system either. I do have containers that I've bought for stickers and embellishments. I wish I had a better shelving system. Takes money though, and time. Love your content and ideas.
I did a frozen party for 2 of my g'daughters both born in july, and made 5 journals, for their friends(best friends) ,because their friends had seen the junk journals and wanted one so bad 😉🤣🤪
I used to love sewing all the time until I made a bride maxes gown that was layered with silk. What a disaster. Those patterns look just like the things I used to make. So many memmories. USD to save my allowance to buy a pattern and fabric, then I was a happy camper. Love Golden Booke.
Hi Kim, regarding the golden Books, I have seen Deanna from Crafty Crafts By Deanna alter them, you may want to watch her. You find the most awesome things, thrift stores in my area have nothing crafty.
I don’t have a system either but after going through all my heads all my charms all my flat backs all my jewelry making I need to purge system !! New rule here I give myself one year and what I haven’t used is going going gone ! Jesus take the wheel
Hi Kim. Love the nails! There are so many creative junk journal makers on RU-vid it can be overwhelming at times, but if you want to get ideas for fun & colorful journals, I recommend Thrifty Days, Rebecca Hoot, & It's Only Paper to name only a few. Hope you can get inspiration from them. Thanks for sharing your haul! Take care, Wallie
alot of thrift stores have the Golden Books for $1.00....Value Village seems to be high!! Be careful with the books, they will multiply and take over!! I am wondering, do you allow yourself an allotted amount for the month on craft supplies? Just wondering.....🙂
