Well, of course. That's because you're miserable. This is why you're going around talking about how dudes aren't manly and drink "soy lattes," etc. You're terrified of being an adult. You can't handle it, so you wish you were 10 years old again. And really, what's more manly than that? Think about it: you didn't say "those were fun times." You said, "Oh, how I miss those days." You want to be a little boy. Snowflake.
@@Wiloxy1106 It's insanely stupid to claim ALL 80's cartoons were made solely to sell merchandise, but none the less, the premise is called effective marketing and it does kinda make the world go 'round. And unfortunately, the majority of the nations crybags (aka millennials) are so self-absorbed and shallow that they can't see past their twitter page, so that insight was most probably wasted on you.
Ya Im not sure how to feel like that again. It just seems like such a wonderful time now long since lost. Im not sure if thats because of how the world is now? or if its just because my mother is dead that the world seems so much darker. I dont have much time left here I hope theres something after this. I hope I get to see my mom again.
You know something I wonder as kids in the 1980s did we have a more interesting childhood than today's kids? In this case is it a fair statement that when we were kids we actually had better toys or better variety of toys than today's kids? Speaking of Transfomers (since you mentioned them) I actually had more Gobots but I was a fan of both the Gobots & Transformers animated series.
Anna Marie Social justice warriors & the Marxist movement here in America gaining momentum ... That’s what went wrong... So sad, these were the days...
Take me back to the 80s, I was a huge my Little Pony girl, I loved them! I loved being a kid in the 80s, they toys were amazing! Unfortunately now a days kids are their phones, yes I said phones! 8 year olds playing with their phones rather than with toys! I'm beyond grate I got to grown up in the 80s!
You're off your medication again, aren't you?. Where did you think you saw these hordes of men playing with my little pony? Are you having difficulty distinguishing between reality and your fantasies, again?
Ok Woah seeing them all in a row like that really illustrates the gendered toys of our childhood. Stuff for girls = take care of something and love it. Stuff for boys = blow shit up!
Here’s a fun fact, that boy in the Transformers commercial @ 6:52 is Jonathan Brandis who was the child actor that played in films such as “It” the miniseries & also “Never ending story 2.”
OMG, I had the original Flutter MLP, AND I also had a Fancy the Snail Keyper--- so cool and fun! My imagination play times never ceased, well, except for school and sleep lol.
I see that when it comes to nostalgia, there are people who keep up with the stuff all the time, and then there are people who just look back from time to time and might not really remember the exact years. This is summer if not very early fall 1986. The Masters of the Universe Slime Pit, the Autobot planes, Serpentor and Dr. Mindbender of the GI Joe line were all new. Go-Bots were about to fade away; I didn't realize they were still putting stuff out at this time. I don't know why people keep assuming that toys at lower price points, like the average Go-Bots or smaller G.I.Joe vehicles like the Devilfish, were for kids who couldn't afford more expensive ones. That stuff was still neat and desirable, and could fill out your toy line.
Lillymay Parker never heard of ladybugs, but Jonathan Brandis was also one of the main characters in Stephen king’s IT, and he played Bastian in The Neverending story II. His face was so memorable, tragic that he killed himself! Talented guy.
The funniest times were in '84. Wal-Mart sold the outfits from the Wham video "Jitterbug", and the Don Johnson "ice cream" colored suits from "Miami Vice"!!! My girlfriend and I worked the same shift at the local W.M. We would bust out laughing at the middle-aged men that would walk out wearing that ridiculous stuff trying hard to look cool!!!!
G.I.Joes were my toys and favorite after school cartoon and He-man of course i got chills watching this commercials bring back memories .....a big shout out to all those 80s kids now all grown up we had the best cartoons and the grew up in the greatest decade
Dave White i would love to back then it seems so awesome now kids all days don’t play with toys they use cartoon programs on phones they they get attached to I really miss the old days when kid played with nice toys I hope one I will be able to experience the old days
I wasn’t born until 2000, but I had like all of these toys as a kid, I never liked the “new” toys of those days. Still to this day, I still use my record player and Polaroid cameras from the 80s and 90s. I’ve been told I have an old soul.
I remember the snow racer commercial and thinking how cool that’d be. But in hindsight I don’t remember ever seeing anyone with one , and I was 12 around that time - prime sledding age. I had an old dented up metal saucer that I waxed , and it was fast as $hit on packed snow. Id put that thing up against any fancy sled. Hard to control though , just held on to the rope handles and prayed lol
I had one, as did my friends. You know, it was a lot of fun driving down a hill with one of those ... unless you wiped out, which could end up being like an auto collision. And then there is the fact that they weigh a lot more than a crazy carpet or whatever. Carrying it back up the hill was tough for a kid. Oh yeah, and the price.
I had one, and it was cool because you could steer it and actually take it over jumps we made out of snow....sure you could try to take a jump on a toboggan, but it was hard to hit the jump because you couldn't steer, plus the landing hurt your ass (whereas you could stand on the skis of the GT snowracer and save your ass).
Ahoyhoy there , Fellow RU-vidrino! I have a Beddy Bye Eye "My Little Pony " she was in bad shape when I bought her from a thrift shop not too long ago, but I used all the marker stains that had been there before to create my dream pony . Her name is Tealia .
Anyone remember lite brite and goblins those little goblin hand puppets with moving eyes? My friend use to have a big 9 inch or so inspector gadget figure and he had so many features. Also my other friend had the huge voltron toy. It was so cool.
Anybody remember when Ghostbusters came out??? I worked at Wal-Mart.....the night shift!!! I dreaded comming in to work because the little kids woud open the packages of slime, and throw it everywhere!!! What a mess!!!
I had 2, and still have one! And i have a younger sister and have a 90s one too that sings, but my original 80s is so much better (and somehow It Is bigger)
Tanisha Kennedy Tanisha Kennedy Tanisha Kennedy Tanisha Kennedy I got mine in 1984. But I know Keypers were popular in 1987 or 1988 (I’m sure I would have begged for them sooner if they existed. I was obsessed with locking things away from my parents.) About the same time as Sweet Secrets. Weren’t the beddy bye eye baby pony’s 1987?
GT SnoRacer was awesome. We didn't go "sledding" or "tobogganing" as kids, we went "GT-ing" .... Tried it again a few years ago, turns out 30 year old plastic, doesnt like to support a grown mans weight in -20 weather. Plastic fragments everywhere, and chunks of steering wheel in my hands.
Yes had a few of these, wanted a few others. It was odd as a kid getting non-Transformers toys, they were so bad in comparison. I'd rather have one good toy than 10 cheaper versions. Adoption papers with a doll was so creepy to me as a kid.
I had a cabbage patch kid and a She-Ra doll. Not to mention the stupid my little ponies and I had the strawberry shortcake, lemon meringue, and blueberry muffin dolls and does anyone remember Popples?
