ah, back in the good old days when toys were included in cereal boxes and the government didn't think that children were too stupid to eat them.

Always thought only posh people covered their cereal with hot milk, we were a bit poor so just used hot water and a touch of milk. Ready Brek i still love. Have it in the Winter and still think i have a golden glow around me in the cold :)

My missus uses hot milk on cereal, but she definitely isn't posh. She's common as mook.😂

I've just finished watching a 90-minute film that was supposed to be funny, during which I was miserable and didn't laugh once. The ridiculousness of that man at breakfast suddenly saying, "hubba hubba yum yum" instantly made me a laugh and put the smile back on my face, so thank you for that alone.

That's definitely a favourite of mine. It's funny how I completely forgot this advert existed .. when I saw it recently for this edit, it all came flooding back!

@@RetroSteveUK Yeah, it's weird how that happens - it's like if you don't actively think about some things it'll seem to disappear completely, but your brain never threw it away - one tiny reminder and it's removed from your brain fridge, the cling film is ripped off, and there it is, full of flavour and ready to go 😁

So many Weetabix adverts in this compilation, the Buggs Bunny one is my favorite 🙂 Also miss the days when you can collect tokens from breakfast cereals to receive free diecast cars (you only have to pay p+p). I used to own that Matchbox FAB 1 Rolls-Royce which I bought as a kid back in the ''90s (seen in the Kellogg's Frosties advert), sold mine on Ebay back in the late '00s and I'm regretting it now☹

Richard Briers is back! WOOHOO! 😄 Though the voiceover I was actually most excited to hear was Norman Lovett in the Sugar Puffs classroom ad. Personally I'd happily have him in lots of adverts, but he always struck me as an odd choice for the mainstream, as he just naturally sounds unenthusiastic and/or sarcastic most of the time. Works for me, though 😁

I used to enjoy Kellogg's Start. That soon disappeared off the shelves. And I convinced my mum to buy Honey Nut Loops on the strength of that very advert. They were nice.

Great set. Not so many cereal adverts these days, or at least it doesn't feel like there anyway. Loved the honey monster ad when all the kids turned into monsters, forgot that one!

I hated cereals. My long suffering mother used to give us (my sister, Dad and me) cereals five days a week. My Dad would make something he called "Weetabix porridge" on the hob which involved some milk and then he would disintegrate Weetabix into it. And then stir and stir. The smell was - foul. I used to cry into my Shreddies. Luckily on Saturday my mum would make a lovely cooked breakfast. Bacon and mushrooms on toast, sweetcorn fritters - it was heaven! Then on Sunday we had - tinned figs. I don't know why. I think my household was possibly strange.

@@RetroSteveUK Toast? I would have loved a slice of toast. With lots of butter. But by the time it was cooked (by my Mum again) we all had to leave the house. Dad for the university, Mum for her job and my sister and I for school. Because we got there so early I could do my homework at school, and noone ever noticed. But I would have liked a slice of toast to help it down a little.

That first Weetabix commercial might be the happiest UK commercial I've ever seen. Did Shredded Wheat get completely replaced by Weetabix in the UK? Is it common in the UK for milk to be decanted out of its original packaging as in the Rice Krispies commercial?

No, that's not generally normal. The only times I've seen that done is in cafes and hotels.
