ive got a pair of these and they sound friggin awesome, must admit they have had some music going threw em like u wouldnt understand and yet they sound crystal clear after all these years
Came across two at the thrift store. Never heard of them before but decided to get them anyway. Not an audiophile but love how clean and clear they sound.
Wharfeldale service department rebuilt two of my E30 drive units for me after I blew them up at a rather loud party several years ago. I had to open the front baffle and unscrew the units and return them to wharfdale as they do not have any of the aluminium casings any more. it was very good value and they came back as good as new. It was some years ago now, but iot wouldn't hurt to give them a ring.
They're OK. I have had a pair of E-30 since 1979, they're still sounding fine, just like back in a day. The bass was definitely not a strong side, midrange was almost top-notch; the ceiling was at 18KHz. Yes, they sounded really solid, dynamic, and exceeded the expectations for that price range. Also, a lot depends of what do you throw at them. Remember, E-30 were considered "the budget" level loudspeakers. The low end of "E" series. The E-50, and E-70 in particular, sounded better...
