@@fullcustomIan I've always held that if someone wants to see a factory original, ground-up restoration, seek out a good museum. Unless it's an extremely unique, one-of-a-kind, rare example - go ahead and make it what ever you like! Have fun! Take the road less traveled and express yourself. Life is short - enjoy the adventure. I love y'alls videos! You compliment one another! Keep it going!!
Real world project building!! I am all in!! Spent a day arguing with a fuel cell fill through a wood bed in a 37 chevy and new metal to support the floor. It's the hundreds of hours of little stuff that makes a difference in making it going or trailering it for showing!! Great video!! Thank you!!!❤❤
I've been an auto tech sense my hole life, 65 years. But rarely a fabricator. I can't count how many GM dealers I've work. I enjoy your show because it gives me ideas' that I wouldn't have thought of on my own. It's fun to watch Ian come up with the ideas that he does. Thank you.
Your Jeep brings back great memories my grandfather had one can't remember the year. They lived in Centerville Missouri on a hill overlooking the Black River as long as I can remember we used to go down on weekends and Run That Thing Up and Down the River it was a blast. I can remember camping trip on the current river right by Blue Springs I just turned 16 years old and he let me drive the Jeep over to the Gravel Bar where we primitive Camp right on the river Grandparents Jeep and cabin are all gone but the memories will last forever. Love your videos thanks for allowing me to share Peace Love Ace out
Great episode of the project Willy! The headlights really did make the front look SO different from the look without lights! Amazing 🤩🤩 Nice looking seats, functional without the BLING FACTOR! 😊😊
Hi Ian and Jamie...Jamie your jeep project takes me back , we always had jeeps back in my high school days ! Fairly simple , reliable , parts were still fairly cheap and accessible. Ian , I don't know if this helps , but when I had to do a T 90 cluster gear replacement , I discovered International Scout used the same T 90. So clusters were the same in both. That cluster gear ( as I remember was full of needle bearings. We had to grease them up an insert a dowel of the same diameter. Then dropped it in the trans. case , and drive the shaft threw while driving the dowel out the other side. Shaft ran past the inside of case which held it in position. Don't know if that information helps , but thought I'd pass along. Thank You both for the videos , so much enjoyed !!
Jamies comment about the Black Widow, behind the toilet made me smile, a little. One of our, now departed, C & W singers, Slim Dusty, was bitten by a Red Back spider in a country outdoor toilet. The red back is Australias widow spider. The song is called, funny enough, "the Redback on the Toilet Seat". It will give you a smile if you get it up on youtube.
love your vids I watch em all. An idea for your front bumper is to put a short trailer receiver vertically in the middle. then you can make a winch mount, or beach seats or whatever you want to plug into it.
I would like to share with you. I watch your vids because I'm a car guy. You frustrate me because I want to see your end result. BUT, you guys are entertaining and fun to watch. Thanks Randy.
I used Kaiser Willys jeep parts when i restored my 47CJ2A, there are several other companies that have everything you need for yours, quality parts help as you know.good luck on the build, i love your work.
Just wanted to let the two of you know i just finished watching the 9 Jeep CJ2A episodes. I had watched them previously but they were out of order and I had to search for them! Only found the first 8 that time. Then i found the 9 videos together. I found them most enjoyable. It's fun watching the two of you interact and get so much done. I'm in agreement with all you've done with one exception. I think bigger tires add to the appearance of the finished product. I'm not talking gigantic. Just bigger. In my view it provides a good, appropriate foundation. Keep up your excellent work. I want to see the finished product. I wait with baited breath to see the color Jamie has in mind! ❤❤
Thank you! I organize all the vids in playlists as well so you can watch them in chronological order 😎 I can’t wait to share my paint color too! ~ Jamie
I really enjoy watching the videos. You can feel the vibe that they are real and show how much time and effort plus mistakes that it takes to build. One of the things I cant stand is some of the other supposed "reality" build shows. They bring in a complete wreck of a project and try to get the viewer to believe they can actually have it ready for a major auction in three weeks.
Pretty cool little bumpers. Having owned 2 military vehicles waiting for parts is part of the game. I’m confident Momma will get a very nice machine when you’re through Ian as it’s not in your DNA to fail. Thanks for the continual ride alongs. Keep doin what you do so well👍👍
Agreed! It is so fun to see the things that people do to old jeeps to give them their kind of character. That is the plan for this one! I cannot wait to see her rolling around the town!
I would have liked to see a full length bumper. Only because I have seen the steering arms broken before by a post going between the bumper and the front wheel. Just something to remember whilst driving it. Keep up the great work. Kind regards Jon
Hey Guys I met a Guy here in New Zealand who has one parked in a Barn and it has all the implements still attached to it, things like spare tire, spade, jacks , fuel can and lots more, but I didn’t have a camera or a phone on me otherwise would share what would have been amazing photos… Anyway, this one is coming along nicely, can’t wait ta see ya’s enjoying a drive in it when it’s done.. Keep up the awesome content and the amazing fabrication also the great camera work, you Guys Rock Man … From Big-D in New Zealand ✌️😎👍
When you put a winch on your jeep. Get one of those harbor freight badlands. They're unstoppable. And better and much cheaper than warn or Smitty built.👍
I'm not saying the UFO was aliens... but it was aliens! XD The Jeep looks so awesome! Jamie, you have the right eye for this Jeep, you get it. The dings, the bumps, they are this old Jeep's character. They tell the Jeep's story. Love seeing you guys resurrect it!
You guys are funny on this video!! Who cares what is right or wrong, just do it your way & to hell witht he naysayers!! Glad to see a bit of the Jeep today!!
Great Great VIDEO Jamie Ian glad your back on Jamie's JEEP hope you can get those RIGHT PARTS in it's crazy how these parts suppliers have got bad getting parts out I understand they have to get them in to get out but it's crazy great VIDEO JAMIE IAN keep them coming
I love watching the "realness" of your projects. I'm never bored watching you work. I've learned so many tips for my own projects. Don't worry about making a "boring" episode. Keep up the amazing work!!!!
Your Jeep, your choice. But it’s only ever going to look like that once. And a lot of work you don’t have to do.🤔 and the new wheels and seats look superb against the patina 😍
Back in 1991-92 I saw a ufo flying over the San Pablo bay about 10pm then it shot over the Golden gate bridge hooverd over the bridge then shot back over the San Pablo bay. I had to wake my mother to see what I was looking at. She told me to go to bed. I kept looking at it for a little while then went in the house. The very next day a few of my friends came over telling me they saw a ufo flying over the San Pablo bay. That they had drove to the wrecking yards to flash the headlights of the car at it. I didn't tell them that I saw the same thing until I heard there accounts of it first. Then Monday morning radio show reported it's official that a UFO was spotted over the Golden gate bridge. I was glade that other's seen it. It was over the Golden gate bridge so I knew people had to have seen what I was seeing. I thought I was losing my mind at first. Never seen anything like it ever since and I do look up at the sky at night.
Wow! Yeah what we saw was definitely different than all the other things we have seen and there was NO sound at all...kinda spooky. It disappeared over Edwards AFB.
Hey Jamie great show. Triva time. Do you know why the military trade is designed the way is on the jeep?. Because you can't tell if your going forwards or backwards to throw off the enemy.
Yup parts for classic vehicles can be a pain to acquire. But it will be nice to see you two cruising around the desert in that Willies cj once completed.
Ian, well done on the bumper. Both for design and using scrap iron. You two are a wonderful pair. Love listening to your brainstorming. Jamie, good choice of music while Ian was cutting the corners of the bumper. Stay safe and healthy. 😉👍
Here’s an idea, how about different attachments for the front bumper, maybe a trailer hitch tube and a winch attached to a trailer tube? You could even do seats, a front rack for extra storage or an overhead rack for your paddle board. You could even mount your sling chair.
I really liked the custom metal SUBSCRIBE button and I suppose Ian sitting there with the grinder ... that was something I've never seen anyone else do on YT ... custom make the SUBSCRIBE. Well Done!
To watch the process in its entirety, you have to watch the finishing bits as well as the fabrication... That gives you the entire picture. I like the picture I'm seeing so far...
Love the jeeps. Spent a lot of time in several M151 models. Joined the military when the 38s were being phased out. Enough time here, gotta watch the Caddywhack. Got behind because it quit raining and I had to catch up on honeydoos. 😁😁
Ian - that blue grey was eaely USAF color. The last step in "trial and error" is trial and sucess. Jamie, I dig that Ride 'Em graphic in the beginning for Subscribe. Video editing is near total "professional". Thanks again you two for a wonderful 27+ minute break in my day.
