Just when I think I've got every great vintage Christmas song, and I've got 730 with 1.4 days of songs, I find your playlist. Quite a few forgotten classics. Thanks and Merry Christmas!
A great way to spend a winter night especially if the snow is falling with my collie Annie Mae taking a winter snow snooze and while I drink a warm cup of Red Rose tea.
This music brings back some very fond memories. I'm now 70 but this makes me want to be sitting at grandmas table nibbling on a homemade sugar cookie and sipping hot chocolate, brings a tear to my eyes.
I am 73 years old and this sure brings back memories. We listened to the radio all the time and I remember before I started school listening to all these songs on the radio as I played with toys while my Mom cleaned the house and cooked our meals. From Thanksgiving until Christmas these songs were played all the time. :)
Am 59 and am from Switzerland 🇨🇭, my memory’s aren’t us much us yours. But I can remember very well, when I get bit older very well, on my first movie on Christmas 🎄 American 🇺🇸 s once… I heard music this style! …. and since then it worms my heart up by listening it everytime 🎄🐿️♥️
What wonderful memories for you! I'm 66 and miss the beautiful music and Christmas atmosphere. Last year it was neon greens and purples lights at a lot of businesses....reminded me of Easter colors. Merry Christmas ❤
im gen x and love it and miss him updating the youtube channel, of only music, the spotify has too many stories for my taste, love this channel its awsome!
Am so much jounger us you all, but I love it just! Feels so peaceful, Christmas like it should be for my wishes! Wishing a beautiful time and gods blessings to you all here and Jesus makes us happy 🙏👑🙌
I'm almost 62 and wish I could have been born around 1915...I'm sure the years past weren't perfect but a lot better than the days we are living now. .
This is what I need right now. THIS IS MUSIC! I’m only 50 and love all kinds of music. But it seems you can no longer just turn on the radio and walk away and enjoy. Its all butt shaking and awful tacky lyrics and sounds. These voices and harmonies are a musical art form. Thank you. Gave up on todays music so here I am!🥰
I completely agree with you, and it’s been done to our society on purpose. This music is amazing and it uplifts the heart and spirit, burn it on a CD or put it on your phone and have it play in your car all day long. We think it’s mysterious why our music has changed. It’s not mysterious, we no longer believe in God we’re no longer Christian. We’ve lost the mind of aspiration, the mind of knowing and loving God. We were both at one time and that’s why this music sounds this way. Sadly, it’s going to get worse and worse and worse, so much so until faith in God returns. We are now moving in the opposite direction.
Your playlists are the best; I work at a social day program for adults w/ dementia and other cognitive issues. I put your playlists on our big screen during coffee and snack time and they provide some really lovely background music. The images are the icing on the cake. Thank you!
It was like being in my grandparents house again. big lit up tree, giant wreath made of pinecones, hot chocolate for the kids, buttered rum for the adults...thank you for the good memories.
@@crystalhowley4259 Sadly, our world is too fractured now. We have nothing that binds us together as a country. But let us continue to move forward and pray for better days while we let this music uplift our hearts. Blessings to everyone. 🤗
I am 16 years old. I grew up with my mom and dad, who were both into 80’s rock, and my nana and papa, who were into all sorts of music from the 40’s - 60’s. Me and my brothers all grew up on this. Thank you for bringing back these memories ❤️
You have excellent taste. Learn everything you can from your Nana and Papa and parents. Believe me you won't regret it. Even video the conversation. I wished I would have with my Dad years ago. All I have is a cassette tape of him giving me a father's blessing as I was going out into the world. I hear his voice and it brings tears to my eyes.
I may only 59. Getting ready to be 60, December 5. I still love that time period!!!!!! I still believe I was born in wrong time period!!!! The music was Amazing and Awesome 👍😊 Thank you for sharing this music with us 😊❤️.
Old Bing could sing about the Winter season better than anyone IMO. I smile when I think about him sitting in a studio in sunny southern California singing his heart out, having spent the vast majority of his life nowhere near snow or cold.
The first image really gives me a sense of nostalgia in a way. Silent streets in my neighborhood as snow falls, being illuminated by the orange street lights. Me running in the deserted street while my fingers get sore from the cold. Not even the sound of cars driving in the intersection up the street are able to be heard. Inside, the Christmas tree lights up the living room as Christmas specials play on the TV. The smell of cinnamon candles draft around the house and my cat and dog are curled up in different areas of the house. Thank you again for making these playlists.
Christmas music ends so abruptly on the radio yet we still have winter, not to mention the season used to be celebrated until the epiphany. I like to play winter music through January, so thank you for putting this collection together, it'll be my go to collection!
I think Christmas day is too early 7th January would be better for.me.our daughters birthday is 5th January she's really a Christmas.baby. 👍😅 My husband is Royal.Mail.and I worked.in a School...Christmas Time I loved it most if it but...I had to write (by hand).Christmas cards for two classes... 60.children before.i even got our family preparations started. 👍😅 hmmm. 😅 I don't miss working in the school that.much ...not this time of year anyway.. 😅
We had a local radio station start playing Christmas music the day after Halloween and stop at noon on Christmas Day. Oy gevalt! At least let it play all day on Christmas.
@@caroleyre9144 I agree! I am celebrating the Epiphany right now and this is a great playlist for the celebration! Cheers to keeping the season going :)
I think some traditions held off the gift-giving till Epiphany in the past since that is when the gifts of Gold, Frankincense, and Myhr (or is it Myrh?) were given to Baby Jesus by the Magi ...or Wise Men. Anyway, there ARE 12 DAYS of Christmas!! I think if people remembered THAT they would feel less pressure and stress all on one day of the year... and the cheer and gift-giving could be spread out over 12 days rather than just one. ....that is only if there would be LESS stress and worry, and more celebration of the spirit of charity, compassion, love, peace, etc., and all things we associate with the ChristChild and His Gift of Himself in our lives. @@AM-ub1lb
winter hit Montana early November this year. i shoveled about eighty feet of driveway and my back is killing me. somehow this makes me feel good again. good old winter!
A more pleasant, simpler time. What my parents listed to. Guess whose listening now? To young and foolish to appreciate this music when they were here. Thank you so much. I appreciate your Chanel
Takes me back to a happier time when I was just a kid. I listen to this music close my eyes and dream of a time long ago! Thanks for the trip down memory lane!!
This is a great playlist because it's cozy, Christmasty and nostalgic without the same old Christmas songs being played over and over. The music takes me back to grandma's house. The pics remind me of growing up in Pennsylvania and ice skating on the ponds and all the pretty landscapes and covered bridges. It makes me think of the Christmas tree farm we had when I was a kid. ❤
Me too reminds me, my Christmasses with my Grandparents and all my family. In Scotland my Mum's parents lived by on Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond. . beautiful place too. ✨🎄✨
We are living in dark crazy times . Prayers it will pass 😊 i am seriously thinking of living in a time warp of yesteryear listening too wonderful music & old films. Stopped watching media & political brain washing doom & gloom. Bringing back style & class with my entertainment time, wishing all out there 'Health & Happiness & Prosperity ' be kind to yourself & other's along the way.
@@bethannfeng5062 It's a gentle reminder that although the music is "nostalgic", please remember that during this "magical time", blacks were oppressed and treated like dirt. Sad still?
I'm almost 70 and prefer the option of "decency" through the arts. I'm usually listening to and watching pre-60's art. Tho I do have certain contemporary joys, its so wonderful to find collections such as these. Your efforts are appreciated!!
I hope Jake Westbrook knows what a service he does for people. I'm 32 and have anxiety, but these playlists help calm me. They take me back to a time long before I existed. An idyllic time that actually didn't even exist (because there have always been horrors in the world), but to the people facing the hardships of of the 30's, 40's, and 50's, this great music was an escape into a fantasy, and it is to me now in 2024.
We don't focus on the horrors. Good music inspires Purity, Truth, Beauty, & Love. "He will keep you in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Him, because he trusts Him" Believe the truth of God & His sacrifice of Jesus for you. The ultimate Christmas gift to you. Receive it, friend!
This is definitely going to be the music I’ll be listening to when I’m cooking the Christmas dinner this year, hope it’s not too early to wish everyone a peaceful Christmas and a happy New Year for 2024, stay safe everyone, love from England 🎄☃️🎅🏼
I used to think I was the only one who prefers this music to anything else --then I see the comments and # of likes on your posts, Jake. Thank you for sharing this wonderful collection of music and pictures with us !
I am a Hispanic I am listening to this music I love all the different pictures I myself thought I was the only I am 60 years one of my favorite movies from Christmas is with meet me at St Louis
😂 Ich sehe gerade das Bild mit der... Wäscheleine...kenn ich auch noch, meine Mutter brachte die Wäsche auch im Winter nach draußen und alles war steif wie ein Brett...aber danach schön weich😊 👍🎄⛄️
22 years old and I absolutely love these videos. Luckily I was brought up by parents who taught me to appreciate such things. I can't wait to share the same with the next generation.
For the first time in a long time I wouldn't mind winter and snow ☃️🌨❄. Break out my sled and find a perfect hill. Thanks for making me feel like a kid again 🙂
This music reminds me of my Dad, such great memories, he loved listening to Bing Crosby, and One Christmas my mom and I bought him a Mills Brothers album, Dad I have never stopped missing you.😞
I really love your choice of prints in this video. The 40s and 50s were the golden decades for Christmas music and Christmas art (post cards and cards). Thank you! :)
My workplace doesn't allow streaming services to be used in our facilities, so RU-vid is my to-go. Your collections have helped me spend many a happy hour at my desk - thank you!
😄 I was just about to leave the very same comment! 😄 It's so wonderful to gather here with like minded people... like a virtual Open House on a wintery evening.
I couldn't agree more. Why do we stop listening to winter music after Christmas... This doesn't make sense... Merry Christmas to all and have a wonderful winter.
This music is mesmerizing. It’s hard to start listening and turn it off. I am a pretty busy man, so I save it on youtube and then go back when I am ready to relax and let the music take me back. Then couple the music with the pictures and it reallly takes me back. It reminds me of playing in two and three feet of snow in Southern West Virginia with my brothers and cousins, sliding donw the hill adn everybody is happy.
I absolutely love this music 😍🎶🎶🎶. I would have loved to have been born in that time ❣️🥰 period!!!!!!! Thank you so much for playing this Wonderful 👍😊 Music 💓🎶🎶🎶.
I saw that this video came down last week and my heart sunk into a 3’ snow drift haha.. Glad to have this back up. Really adds to a nice weekend and makes for a great break from Christmas tunes. Thanks!
This is the perfect time machine if you allow your imagination to roam. Perfect combination of beautiful music and a superb collection of images. A sincere thank you from a snowed-in citizen of NC.
This is just a wonderful playlist. "Snow," in particular, is completely bonkers and I think Irving Berlin was "going through it" for a minute there. Thank you so much for assembling and sharing! ❄❄❄❄❄
YES!! the OLDer music was tuned to a healing frequency , not like today. OLD GOODsettings were 432. Today is 440 New Standard. and it causes cell damage!! The is why hearing this older tunes ACTUALLY FEELS GOOD. THANK YOU
Thank you!! These are definitely going to help me get through the cold, snowy, New England days headed my way. The most comforting songs and warm, cozy illustrations.
Thank you for this! I have a different perspective as I no longer celebrate Christmas for religious reasons but this time of year I always get nostalgic for that cozy winter feeling! This playlist is perfect for me. I had a rough childhood but sometimes I miss the good moments with my sisters playing in the snow, watching holiday movies, sipping hot chocolate. I live in a country now that doesn’t even have snow and this really makes me miss it and takes me back 😅
Bit curious, people of all religions around the world still celebrate Christmas as a festival if not for Christian reasons, is your religion very obscure?
@@theotherside8258 hi :) personally I’m a believer in Jesus Christ but I don’t celebrate Christmas because He didn’t say to do so and it’s origin is a mix between pagan religion and catholicism, so it has nothing to do with my faith. This same thing applies to halloween, easter, etc.
@@elisagabriela2000 Ah I see. Thanks for satisfying my curiosity. The english puritans actually banned christmas for similar reasons, so its logical but you can observe it as a holiday festival without bringing it into your religion, you don't need to compromise, even muslims and buddists celebrate it this way. Good will to all men. I didn't say people should celebrate my birthday so they don't either.😀.
@@theotherside8258 I get your point but since fundamentally it’s a religious festivity I cannot celebrate it in good consciousness before God because from my reading of the Bible I understand it’s an abomination to him. Deutoronomy 12:29-32, Jeremiah 10, Matthew 15:6-9 etc
