The "inside the boat" stuff was done in my garage - the rest of it we shot on site. Definitely the biggest scope in a video we've been able to achieve so far. We went to the Alvord Desert in Oregon. The intro was in a natural sunlight cave near Bend, OR. We also filmed in a pool. That was fun. We made the "void" portion in a huge barn using a pool we made. Thanks so much for reacting to it! It totally made my day. We worked so hard on the video so it's really amazing to watch you guys enjoy it.

No green screen. We built a boat and then took it 500 miles to the desert in Oregon.

The wind was a huge challenge in the desert. It was so strong it actually blew over part of the drum set!!

This is the most fun I’ve had watching a reaction video in a while! I loved how into it you guys got🙌🏼 I’m actually the Handmaiden in this video (white dress) so I can answer a few of your questions about the video 🤓 It was mostly filmed in the Alvord Desert in Oregon, except for the scenes with the Oracle which were filmed in a cave with a skylight. The indoor scenes were filmed on a set in Karl’s garage (he’s the video director but also the bassist) and the final scenes were shot in a gigantic barn that we turned into a shallow pool. All the cool desert shots and beautiful night skies were 100% real and not a green screen 🤓 Everyone in the band and their friends and family all helped build the sets and props and made the costumes. It was a true family affair! And it had to be since it was made within our COVID Bubble haha. Although even pre-COVID, all the music videos tend to be a band and family effort 🤓🤘🏼 If you want to see another super cool theatrical video, you should check out the Holy Procession or Old Ones. They also just did a live in-studio session for Metal Injection’s #SlayAtHome that is phenomenal 🤘🏼

I think you touched upon everything that I would as far as music and vocals are concerned. But if you are really interested in how this music video was created, Karl Whinnery, who is the bassist and the director for Vintersea´s videos, wrote two long and detailed blog posts about making of it.
