It’s cool to hear that kids are still getting into punk ( or at least bands) through the old skateboarding video games. The original Tony Hawk games influenced my musical tastes heavily and I’m sure a lot of skaters my age can relate. Keep it up little dude! You can call it being a nerd if you want but I see someone that’s passionate about learning and sharing what they’ve learned and there’s nothing cooler than that.

I have a lot of this stuff on cassette still to this day. I noted the Milo resemblance back when you interviewed The Descendents, one of my favorite bands, too. Wow, Elliott some of my favorite bands here. I've got The Ramones first two albums on vinyl, personal favorites. Keep on punkin'!

I'm not a huge Descendents fan, but I grew up with "I don't wanna grow up" , I was 15 (20 years ago) and a friend of mine gave me the recorded pirate cassette, without knowing who the fuck the Descendents were. One month ago finally arrived "Milo goes to college" and I loved it on vinyl, but the first one will remain in the cracks of my brain forever.

One of my college dorm mates had a huge record album collection of punk but also old rock and roll, plus surf rock, and some new wave tossed in. He introduced me to the Ramones, Sex Pistols, Wall of Voodoo, and an album you showed, namely The Cramps - Songs the Lord Taught Us. I recommend Never Mind the Bollocks Here's the Sex Pistols, Wall of Voodoo's album Call of the West, Fear - the Record (introduced to me by said dorm mate), and also look up the video of Fear playing on Saturday Night Live on Halloween 1981. They destroyed the set and were cut short by NBC President Brandon Tartikoff who called SNL from his home and told them to cut to a commercial and get them off the stage. Great times!

Some great choices here, and great to see these classics and classic bands keeps being relevant to generation after generation. Im 47 and i’ve been into both metal and punk for almost 40 of those 47 (but i listen to many other genres too) I really cant see how my life would have been without punk/hardcore & metal in my life, it would have been a LOT more boring thats for sure

I really wish some dirtbag would not have taken my vinyl. And or my other vinyl from my parent should have went to me because I appreciate it more then my sibling that don't know nothing about rock and roll don't even listen to rock and roll but somehow she wound up with all the good records!!! I scratch my head wondering why.? Maybe because she's the youngest. All the good led Zeppelin Molly hatchet Lynyrd Skynyrd Pink Floyd The Police even 45's of The Beatles. I was promised them to me all my life because that's all I got to listen to you as a kid your age. I want my vinyl and my record player back. 😡 I grew up listening to them records. my first album I ever got was motley Crue shout at the devil with the big black pentagram on it and they're goofy looking butts on the back. My second album was ACDC For those about to Rock

You should check out KRAUT they're really good old school punk hardcore! UNIFORM CHOICE, SSD, NEGATIVE APPROACH. Also you forgot AGNOSTIC FRONT and GBH!

Its weird i always thought postpunk was different. I grew up in the 90s listening to a lot of independent music like unwound and fugazi. Recently younger friends referred to them as postpunk. Its funny because in my head i always thought of bands like joy division and public image limited as postpunk. Cool video!!

Great selection elliot black flag is my fave so angry! Love the pogues saw the in london at a xmas show once it was just like a punk show! Check out discharge so heavy and bleak they are from stoke on trent, incidently where lemmy was born and slash lived there and its rough so probably thats why they sound like they do! DINOSAUR JR! Love them still got the t shirt from 1991 yeah im old! New band martyrod from sweden are amazing as well noisy but melodic check them out, keep up the videos great stuff!

This was a great selection, man! I would only suggest Corpse in Disguise by The Faction; and two more recent albums (from the 90s): ...And Out Come the Wolves by Rancid, and No Straight Angles by No Fun At All. Fun fact, my wife loves when I play and sing acoustic versions of punk songs to her, especially the Misfits and Ramones. You know, keeping it romantic.

Wasn't Dez Cadena Black Flag's vocalist on "Damaged"? I could be wrong. Good choices there, kiddo! I got my older nephew the first Bad Brains album and Motorhead's "No Remorse" compilation to give him some history and it went over pretty well!

Some of my other favorite punk bands flipper, drop kick Murphy’s , flogging molly , naked raygun , nofx , circle jerks , the exploited . Dag nasty . These so many I could list and cross overs there’s definitely some prog rock that has a punk feel , some new wave , goth, metal all kinds of stuff that was influenced from punk . Music is definitely influenced by other things that’s why I listen to a wide variety. I just don’t get anything after 1994 when Kurt died . Music started getting lame now there’s not much new good stuff AWK maybe he’s definitely influenced by metal and punk .

I dicovered a lot of hardcore and heavier stuff through these records. I think you would love integrity and left for dead. Metal and punk meld together amazingly. Also if you wanna hear some newer angier and heavier stuff. Seeyouspacecowboy and knocked loose are contemporary hardcore punk acts. I can go on for hours. Keep it up buddy!

I'm surprised there was no Subhumans(uk) in there. I reccomend Guttermouth, the Angry Samoans, D.I., the Germs. and here's a couple obscure ones: the Insaints, Fronted by Marian Anderson who in some ways could be compared to GG Allin with extreme stage antics (check the documentary "Last Fast Ride: the life and death of a punk rock goddess" narrated by Henry Rollins) False Freedom "Despite the Belief" these guys are friends of mine from northern California, and Oppressed Logic. Every one of these bands are awesome and span different eras and styles of punk

Love this, some great albums that you simply can't get my side of the pond. A lot of west coast though. Should try and listen to some British punk bands. Lots of these bands got their influence from bands like: Toy dolls Sham 69 Cockney rejects Anti nowhere league. Etc.
