Awesome finds my friend! I always like when you see an album that you're not specifically looking for at the time and it just jumps out at you. It's like Christmas, Festivus and your birthday all rolled into one awesome moment! Congrats on winning the contest!
Yeah it’s like sometimes you see something and you figure you better pick it up even if it means putting back a record you had in your hand. Thanks Steve!
Hey, Gary! Nice additions to the collection. Accept! Yes!!! I’ve liked their last few albums. Nazareth rules! I’ve heard Steve mention that Tommy Bolin album too. In Through The Out Door is a killer album. Would you get all the cover variations? Bruce Bruce ( as he was known in Samson). Not a huge fan of the new album but there are a few good tunes.
Good to see you again Gary. You got a nice A-Sleeve copy of In Through The Out Door. The front of the A-Sleeve is the view of the older man coming in the door of the bar. As you know there are six variations of the album. A through F. There are repeat character views. Such as the A-Sleeve that you have. The front cover view of A-Sleeve is the same angle view as the back cover of the D-Sleeve. But all twelve {front and back} cover shots are different. The people are positioned differently. I hope that I am not geeking out with the Zeppelin info. Just figured I would pass it onto you. I still have a few original sealed pressings. I think I had either 18 or 21 sealed copies when it was released. Cool pickups all around G~ Rob/Boston
Thanks Rob! Yeah I knew about all the different variations but I just never wanted to put the money or effort into collecting them all. Although being a big Zeppelin fan you would think I would lol. It’s a cool concept and that’s great you actually have them all
You're stretching out with jazz ! 😊 Looks interesting, and Accept ! I picked my first ever from Bill's.. It's a comp that rocks hard ! Nice one on an OG LZ ! Cool beans, Gary.. It'll be nice to upgrade your driveway. I'm at work now.. Talking up the Amish furniture LoL !! 😂
Thank you, Gary..and by chance, did you see my British record haul right before my latest at Bill's ? I'm very lucky to have these UK records with a low numbered mono original white album !
Hey Gary! Congrats on the contest winnings. Digging that purple vinyl. Also Mark is one hell of a musician! He is a local guy to me in NJ. Was in an 80s band called TT Quick that was fantastic and I recommend them if you are not familiar yet. The Metal of Honor album. Anyway Cheers!
Killer pickups Gary! Congratulations on winning Randy’s contest! That’s a great Nazareth album , maybe my second favorite by them, awesome TB album, 👍 what cover variation is the Zeppelin? They say a letter on the spine, killer Bruce! 👍🤘🤘
Yeah Nazareth has some kickass albums that kinda get overlooked. The Zeppelin is the “A” cover. Crazy stuff. I’m liking the Bruce cd the more I hear it. Thanks Aaron!
I really enjoyed the new Accept album Gary. Hope you enjoy it 😊 New Bruce album, also very good, just somewhat baffled by the last tracks being so balad heavy. Specially on the vinyl it doesn’t make me want to flip to side 4, or D so much. Thanks for sharing 😊
That is a great Jazz Dispensary album, my favorite of the series. The Nazareth album was the last I ever bought from them. I really loved their stuff, except their first album, through Expect No Mercy. In Through The Art Door was a college album for me! OGs are more fun
I’ve never quite warmed to Mark Tornillo having grown up in the Ludo era although Too Mean To Die was pretty solid. Awesome that you found an original press of In Through The Out Door. I get the feeling you are a little underwhelmed by the latest Bruce solo album. Cool finds
I was a little concerned you were going jazz on us. 😆 The Mandrake Project was a real grower, I ended up liking it more than the last Maiden or the new Judas Priest. Cool pickups, cheers Gary!
I’m still warming up to the Bruce album. The Accept album is easier to get into quickly. I don’t listen to jazz much at all but I do like jazz drummers. Thanks Scott and cheers!
Mike is going to have to find another name for you after acquiring the Jazz Dispensary record. The Grass Roots had some great pop hits. I am working on the Peter Gabriel catalog as well. I got that Tommy Bolin album because of Steve as well and have really enjoyed it. Nice pickups.
Thanks Randy! Yeah I think my “hatred” for jazz has been overblown lol. Peter Gabriel records get hard to find once you get past the first couple it seems. Take care!
Hi Gary! I am familiar with dispensaries, but need to look up the Jazz Dispensary! I only know Accept for Balls to the Wall. My Peter Gabriel stuff is all on compact disc with the exception of his most recent album courtesy of that guy Steve. Speaking of, Tommy Bolin. 😂 Nice Led Zeppelin pickup. I still like it as it has its moments. Lanie Wilson I will check out.
I’m sure you are very familiar with dispensaries. Oh I still love the Zeppelin. It’s just not my favorite by them. Still better than a million other records. Funnily enough, I only have Peter Gabriel on vinyl. You would probably like the latest album by Carly Pearce. Thanks Mike
"....it's actually a good listen" lol You sound a little bit surprised? (more lol) Nice stack of records. I really need to get something by Nazareth; I'd probably go with Hair Of The Dog since it has the hits. Tommy Bolin! So awesome...Have fun listening!
I will admit that with the title, I was afraid it wouldn’t be something I enjoyed, but a lot of this is totally in my wheelhouse. I’m a fan of War and Ohio Players so some of this is in that neighborhood. Most of the 70’s Nazareth is good, it’s after that when things get sketchy lol. Thanks Randy! I love the 45 too!
Lainey Wilson is someone I just can't get into. She does a duet with Lukas Nelson that's pretty good, but otherwise she's just a bit too mainstream for me. That said, I love that you show all your tastes!
Hey Gary, you are obviously not one of those who are going to look for the 6 variations of “In through the out Door” cause you didn’t even mention it, what are your thoughts on those who do? 🎸🎶 (No worries I don’t either)
@@TheVinylLoungeMtl I think that’s cool if someone wants to do that. Six different versions for me of the same album just seems like too much money to spend when there’s five other albums I could buy lol
I should think Jazz is chronically underdone in the vinyl community. Sadly underdone. And (I hate to say this) it tends to get treated a bit by well-meaning presenters like it is museum music, not the vital sanguine music it is. They mean well but sometimes they don't communicate that Jazz is always alive because good jazz never sounds the same way twice. I'll have a video out soon about getting started with jazz - I'll send you a preview when I have it all schmicked up. You may or may not find it useful!
