I just had the same thought. On a related note, the other day I recalled a thirty year-old memory in conversation for the first time, which was a realization I could have done without...to make matters worse, it was with a guy who was still roughly 10 years shy of existence at the time in question, and is now an adult. That's just way too much perspective all at once. I mean, I know I'm not young, but I still think of myself as sort of youngish, which is sort of trueish, in a relative sense. I suppose the silver lining is that I've learned the importance of keeping things best avoided well out of perspective. Anyway, re: the considerably more fun topic of Man of Steal (

@@robquinn9999 ahh, a fellow Torontonian. You mentioning Eastern Bloc gave it away, haha. Yes, my son who was a new born when I first got into the scene is now a 24 year old man. The day I picked up my copy of this, I’d asked for a copy of Alien Girl and Chris laughed at me saying I was too late and they were long sold out. Never liked the dude after that day. Unknown Soldier (I think his name was Gord) was always cool and gave me sneak peaks of new material but not Sniper. He was kind of a dick 😂. Those were the best (and worst) days of my life.

@@TomFooleryTheAustere I was actually a breaks dj, so I pretty much lived on the other side of the store. Dan (D-Monic) was my guy, and he was always good to me. He was slightly aloof by nature, which could be mistaken for arrogance, but he was willing to help youngsters like me, and the breaks selection in that shop was second to none... probably the best in the country. As a teenager, relatively new to the scene, that shop on Adelaide was a magical place, and I was completely blindsided by the closure. It was the first of many painful lessons I was soon to learn on the impermanence of things, courtesy of the scene I knew, loved, and naively assumed would be around forever. As you said, those were definitely the best days of my life, but with the highest highs come the lowest lows. To be fair, I also think that the older I get, the more I see those days through rose coloured glasses, building everything up to be slightly bigger and better than it actually was...sorta like like a 40 year old man who's still hung up on a high school girlfriend, haha... I don't know how the hell you juggled the scene with a young family...I had a difficult enough time being responsible for me. I tip my cap to you sir.
