Just got mine and of course, the install "instructions" are virtually useless for someone who hasn't done this before! Your vid helped a lot. Many thanks.
@@kevinvillalobos2475you don’t need it, but I bought a hardwire kit that goes into fuse box. No wires anywhere now except a few inches coming out of headliner to plug into camera. And if you want to use parking mode you need to be hardwired.
I am tasked to help my dad with finding and installing a dash cam himself (we live in different regions). Thank you for your video. It's very clear and easy to fast forward if information is known. In his case, he needed to watch the full thing to understand. After trying and failing to explain how it works and to be set up, dad still wasn't understanding. Showing him this video took a lot of stress and frustration off our plate. Thank you.
Just order one and thought I'd see if someone had a good install video. This was great! Bonus, seeing you driving around my old neighborhood in Surprise.
Thanks for great review, just bought vioffo a119 V3, waiting for it. My previous dash cam is xiaomi 70mai dash cam pro, but it has aspect ratio 4:3, and it seems vioffo has better picture quality
Great video! Mine just arrived today and was able to follow you video. Thank you. Also at 17:05 you were using the tape to secure the wiring. Can you tell me where to get that tape? I've been looking for that 'Fiber' tape at HD and they don't have it. Or maybe there is a particular name for that tape.
I know that dash cam doesn’t use an app. How or have you viewed videos? Do you have to download to a pc? I just bought the a119 Mini 2 that has Wi-Fi and uses an app and it downloads videos right to the app. I do own two of the a119 V3s but wasn’t sure how much of a headache it would be to download the videos. I do believe that there is an adapter that use can plug into the unit and download vids to your phone. Thanks in advance!
With this camera.. Use the HDR only at night.. In daylight do not use it..if you want to record the licence plates from cars around you. HDR is best used only at night. I have the same camera for over 3 years now.. and it is working the same as first day.
The RU-vidr Autofun has a compuer controlled OBD2 connector that will automatically shut off the dascam when the battery gets to low if you put this particular adapter in that mode.
Looking for a mobile dash cam to put in a rental car while on a trip. Could I use this cam for that purpose. Just attach it and plug into the adapter, then remove it when I return the car.
Hello, I have a question: how long does this camera work on its own battery, will it last 5 minutes? One more thing, does he take photos? My current Nextbase 212 doesn't have a battery anymore, so I'm looking for something else. Thank you
Hi, they offer a stand alone battery kit that you can wire in for parking mode. As it is it stays on momentarily after the key shuts off. I’m not sure if there is a picture mode. I would just extract a frame from video if needed.

I have a question, I have a Toyota rav4 hybrid, I just got the VIOFO v119 v3 and I hide the cords and plugged in into the cigarette lighter 12v, does the battery drain if it’s plugged in while the car is off? My dashcam turns off when I turn off my vehicle, when I turn the vehicle on my dashcam automatically turns on and starts recording. Will it drain the battery if the vehicle is off?
@@DrivingForwardBuilds sorry I meant to say that I have it plugged in to my cig lighter and I love that it turns off while the vehicle is off. I don’t have it plugged in on the fuse box because I don’t want to record 24/7. I was just wondering will the battery drain if I keep it plugged in the cigarette lighter.
I am not sure that you can. However, I have had many cameras and only ever updated a few of them. I installed one in my other vehicle straight out of the box.
I have mine plugged in to the OBD port. I'm afraid the parking feature might drain the battery. Is there any way? I could have it not record when parked even if there is motion. Because right now even with parking mode off it records with motion.
I have all of those features currently turned off on my camera. I would double check that all of the settings are turned off for parking detection. If that doesn't solve the issue the folks at BlackBoxMyCar were very helpful when I was installing my camera.

Sorry to hear that, and totally understand. Hope your install either goes well or already went well. It's a tough balance to take things slow enough, and to keep attention.
