Violent Florida Lightning Storms! (June 18th 2023)

This is unbelievable. The other storms were insane already, but then this one appears and takes the crown as the best one so far. Constant, unending lightning. It didn't stop for hours, and as of uploading this and typing the description, it's still going strong off shore, at 10:08pm EDT.
The main violent storm starts at around 18 seconds in but the camera's focus was acting weird so the watchable part starts at around 45 seconds in. The lightning was crazy throughout the storm.
The real insane nighttime lightning starts at 10:56. There's bolts streaking across the sky a lot.
I wasn't able to adjust my camera's white balance so that's why it looks so blue. The outdoor lamp light was so orange that the camera thought it was indoors which made everything else bluish.

I'm so glad you were able to capture the storm at all! For the record, being totally blind all my life does have its advantages. And even though I can't see the video, I can tell you just how great the audio quality is, and that's just as important as the visual quality in my book. Having that binaural stereo sound makes it sound like I'm right there in the middle of it with you when I listen to it with headphones. Keep up the great work! PS: What do you use to record these videos? Perhaps someone might be able to suggest ways to capture the color you want if they know what type of equipment you're using. Just a thought.

Thanks! 🙂 I just use a Sony Handicam camcorder. I forget what exactly what the model is. It normally works perfectly fine and I set it manually whenever it doesn't set the brightness right automatically, but the screen was broken at the time so I had to record blind. The camera fell during the trip unfortunately, and I still haven't been able to find anyone to repair it. I've been recording with my phone mostly since then.

Yes and no. 😅 I was technically outside, but I was underneath something the whole time the storm was directly over us, right by the door. It's a no go if I'm out in the open. I do not stay out, well, 99% of the time, because during a storm on July 20th of last year where I live, I stood outside right on a beach near Lake Erie and lighting was striking around me quite often, and I think our hair was starting to stand up too, so we ended up getting back in the car. It's so weird because I used to be freaked out whenever lightning struck when I was younger.
