I was on drugs for years absolutely nothing worked as far as rehabs. The first time I went to jail for 6 days and I have been sober ever since. My brother and sister died from drugs. My mom died after years of sobriety but what finally killed her was the consequences of using drugs, alcohol, and smoking. I now have three wonderful children and a great life. I lost my 1st born baby boy and he died I went crazy on all my narcotic medicines given to me for my lupus. Drugs and alcohol abuse has taken so much of my joy and all my loved ones!!! I pray these people get their lives together cause no one believed I would be who I am today. Hold on to your loved ones while they are still alive. Had I known this life was so amazing I would have done this years ago. Prayers going up!!!!

I have 32 years clean, sober and always recovering. I hope someone who doesn't think this is possible AND you can be happy, have fun, remember everything, be happy you are alive and grateful for both the good and the bad of life because those are the teachers you need to learn from. One day at a time, one hour, one minute, one second...whatever it takes.

When I watch this show I take a shot every time they say "get you through the process" and I got alcohol poisoning

the first clue that they have no idea what their rights are is how adamant they are about knowing their rights.

I feel for the lady that was in foster care when she was a kid but I was in foster care as well and no one's ever seen me going out there getting in trouble and getting locked up multiple times because of it. Yes being in foster care can be terrible depending on whether your foster care parents were nice or not. As I've said I went through it firsthand. And it still bothers me to this day. But I don't let it get to me to the point where I'm going to let my life spiral out of control with bad choices. I truly hope she gets the help that she needs so she can stay out of trouble.

The first woman was an absolute beast under the influence of alcohol, but was an incredibly nice individual when she sobered up. I thank God that I stopped drinking in 1995...after getting my FOURTH DUI. And I also thank God that I never killed anyone by my irresponsible behavior when I was younger. And it wouldn't have mattered if I 'didn't mean to do it' if I had have killed someone. Not one bit.

The level of entitlement by inmates is indicative of why society is in the state it is. We need to start forcing people to behave in a civilized manner and hold them accountable for their actions. We also need to dial back what “rights” those who have broken the law have. Their “rights” should end once they’ve impinged on someone else’s rights.

the attractive blond guard (with the ponytail) wanders from inmate to inmate pointing out that they are wrong. That's unnecessary and the judge's job. I've seen her in video after video drawing the woman out and then turning on them with a sarcastic remark. She thinks it's OK to punish them. In most cases, she is correct that the inmates are in jail because of their own bad choices, but it's not helpful to bait them into an argument they inevitably lose.

Funny how different people's points of view are. There have been times in my life when I have been without work and had no way to support myself and knew that I had to do SOMETHING in order to eat. When I was looking over my options, the one option that never occurred to me was to go steal something. I was thinking more in line of "I wonder if that bookstore is hiring." or "Someone said hospitals are hiring." Of course, I am now an old woman and I have never served a night in jail and that young man knows nothing else and says he likes the thug life. I think the friend who committed the robbery with him and who he is sure snitched on him, needs to be very very careful and needs to watch his back during those intervals when this guy is out of jail or prison because I don't think he would hesitate to exact a bit of revenge on the guy he believes ratted him out. I don't think this man is capable of understanding that he ended up being prosecuted for robbery because DUH! he committed a robbery. No, his way of thinking is that he believes he was prosecuted for robbery because his partner in crime snitched on him. His inability to accept responsibility for his own actions is exactly why he is now in trouble with the law and is why he will undoubtedly serve much of his life behind bars. The man who wanted to be a corrections officers but who "took the wrong turn in Albuquerque" proves how important the company we keep is to us. The "wrong turn" he took was largely because he was hanging out with the wrong girlfriend. No, he didn't have to follow her but she apparently was very skilled at leading him. I normally am on the side of the corrections officers but I think the way they handled the woman who asked for food was all wrong. If she is diabetic when she needs food she needs food and she doesn't need to wait an hour and a half to get it. She may be BS'ing them but frankly if I were them I wouldn't want to take the chance that just maybe she is NOT BS'ing them. They might need to look into the dangers of someone who is diabetic not being allowed to have food when their blood sugar is out of balance. I also think it was a bit of arrogance when the female corrections officer said, "She should have eaten earlier but she chose to drink instead so now it's not our problem." Yes, she should have eaten earlier but she didn't. NOW, she needs food so stop trying to assign blame and give her food.
