Violet, the way you explained the way how we were not given the knowledge to keep this addictive garbage from our own kids is so spot on. My kids are now 18, 16, and 12 and it is next to impossible for them to see based on what they have grown up eating and seeing their peers eat. All their peers eat junk and they appear "fine." As parents, we were under the impression that it wouldn't be on the shelves if it wasn't safe. Now we have addicted parents raising addicted children and not even knowing how to break the cycle. We have kids who are sick mentally and physically and one day they may be parents. The ones who appear "fine" may not start feeling the effects until their 20s or 30s. I love the way you explained it. I've never heard it stated so simply and perfectly. Thank you.

It's a very complex problem. How do you disconnect without damage when so much of our culture is based around all this garbage "food"? I can't even imagine learning about the proper human diet as a child... while it would have been incredibly freeing and allowed me to develop to my genetic potential, it would have been incredibly isolating too. Kids are also quite cruel, I would have certainly been called a monster. I've been strict ruminant based for close to five years and I have no reason to ever turn back, but even as an adult the social end of things can be difficult, and I say that as somebody without much family (so it's easier!).

Wow, what a brilliant woman Violet is. I resonated with her on many levels, from being a mum and wishing I’d never given my kids sugars to hip pain. I have been keto/low carb over the past few years. Lost 20 kilos initially but just as Violet said, I lost my fat phobia and started some carbs again(mainly fruit) and the weight piled back on. I’ve had excruciating hip and back pain with this cycle of regain. So I bit the bullet and have gone carnivore. Only day 3 but I feel great. Not my first time trying, but the last few times I didn’t feel as good as this, so maybe now is the time for me to do it and go longer. I look forward to losing this hip pain. I've found some of the problems with leg joints is not lubricating, hip movements swinging to the side aren't addressed enough when walking and just swinging lower leg to lubricate knees. Knowing this stuff as I've learned its frustrating watching my 40s yo children continue poisoning themselves and their children, I know it would be hard to change because its not well known and they still trust government, corporations, etc. Aging isn't years of life but years of poor nutrition. I call it vegetation, its all vegetation and animal. The earth will heal when we stop mass cultivation.

So.. I agree about the carbs.. and apprciate keto and carnivor diets.. BUT!!! I feel mentally and physically better eating some things that are taboo.. just because I like it a couple of times a month. Maybe its because I'm basically healthy.. (we are all different, and our bodies react to poisons put in food differentky) I never had severe pain, or diabetes, or any of the symptoms many complain about.. but I was overweight and wanted to lose 50 pounds.. which I've succeeded in.. at times, I've regained, but then I can easily get back on. I can intermittently fast very easily. So.. my point is while I appreciate this clip and others clips, for me its better to choose to have a drink, or a cheesecake once in a while just because I like it, but I can honestly say I'm NOT addicted, so I feel I'm getting the best out of keto, carnivor without the guilt if I eat things I know arent "healthy". Dont get me wrong.. some folks are addicted.. and like a smoker or alcoholic, or even a cocain addict.. they do have to go cold turkey. Also totally agree that we can't trust any of the companies or the government! Just look at the food pyramid that the FDA pushed!
@Epona52

The countertop microwave was introduced in 1967 - the "Food Pyramid" was issued by the USDA in 1992 - it was the mid-1960's when the Surgeon General issued a warning about the health effects of smoking - and egg consumption was discouraged around 1995 over concerns about cholesterol. So, much of the dietary changes that introduced seed oils and increased sugar consumption have taken place in the last 60-70 years.

Great video. Regarding the keto sweets and snacks trap, I fell into that, but it never hindered my weight loss journey for some reason. At my highest weight, I was only around 200 and 5’8”, so it’s not like I was obese. I carried it well, had muscle, but was noticeably inflamed and pudgy. I started on keto and lost close to 50 pounds. Then I transitioned to carnivore and haven’t lost any noticeable weight, mainly because I probably attained my ideal weight. I do, however, “feel” healthier on carnivore, and have noticed a body recomposition, in terms of losing some visceral fat while putting on more muscle, so that’s definitely a plus.

Just hit 22:49 and I would like to add my thoughts on the question regarding the root cause. I think Violet is right and so is Kerry. The problem is when did this all happen. In regards to Violet's response, that's a case by case basis that depends on how the family is raised. In Kerry's initial proposed response to the question, I think that goes farther back than just one family or generation. Perhaps it's older than the hills if we're just talking about the problem of greed. However if anyone wants a more recent culprit that rears it ugly head, look at the United States and how it moved off of the gold standard. Since the incentive structures of society inverted with a government decreed currency which can be printed infinitely, society started to deteriorate. The base "operating system" of the US had diverged into a lesser form due to greed and war. Other countries and societies have also went off of gold standards and other good standards of money throughout time. Every time it happens, countries inevitably fall. The reason why food companies poison populations is because it just makes economic sense. If you want to win the game of fiat money, AKA government decreed money that can be inflated infinitely, then you have to do something to people and not for them. You must be a parasite in some form. Because that's what a money printer does, it parasitically feeds off of the value and savings of those who use the currency it creates. Talk about going a step farther than "you are what you eat!" If countries and societies wisely refused to secede from reasonable standards of money, then it's less likely we would be in this health crisis. Now with all that said, it sounds pretty doom and gloom. Luckily there are answers to the root cause of the problem. One answer is to go back to a sound money standard. Gold would come first in mind to many. The problem is that in order for it to work you need to have an intermediary layer in order for it to be transportable. That was already done with gold standards. And it also led to greed by removing the convertibility of paper notes into gold and then eventually removing gold from its "backing." Needless to say, it was a slippery slope. Fortunately we don't need to use gold anymore. Bitcoin is both more difficult to procure versus finding gold and it can be transported around the globe instantly. Bitcoin has a supply cap of 21 million bitcoins, each made up of 100,000,000 individual small units called Satoshis. Bitcoin is also faster than both gold and the dollar with something called the Lightning Network which allows anyone to instantly send Bitcoin to anyone in the world for either an extremely cheap fee or completely free. When I mean extremely cheap, I'm being as apt as possible. For context, it's usually fractions of a penny. There are more answers to the root cause of the problem, but this one specifically tackles of the problem of money which allows civilization to operate. Problems like these often require multiple solutions that must work harmoniously and in tandem. I think by incorporating Bitcoin into your life, you also align yourself with positive incentives which move you towards finding or rediscovering the answers and truths that have been forgotten or purposefully hidden. I have a feeling we've forgotten a lot. Having a money we can actually save in is one step towards something better and finding those answers. I also think families will play a huge role in raising generations with good foundational nutrition and financial education. Society needs good families!

It is my understanding that protein converts to glucose too, this is why the likes of Thomas DeLauer who does keto suggests at least 70% fat, 25%, 5% carbs, but it’s age dependent he reckons if you’re female over 50 you need slightly less fat ie 65% and slightly more protein ie 30% and 5% carbs. That’s keto.

She made so many important, powerful and practical points! However, why did she have to bash science as if it were the bad guy? It’s certainly not science that is misleading! It’s the people who claim that their products have some scientifically proven value when they are knowingly disseminating skewed results or results from a poorly designed study and use that misinformation in misguiding the public for financial gain. I wanted to share this video with family and friends, but her insistence that science is to be thrown out in favor of doing whatever you feel is best is hardly the message anyone with critical thinking skills will be impressed by. I sincerely wish she could have stuck with the facts instead of veering off with the “science bashing.”

She said she doesn’t know if there’s a plant that has every amino with the appropriate, accompanied fats necessary to sustain our diet. That’s why there are a billion plants to choose from. You get the appropriate aminos and fats from an animal because it’s another living being.. with that argument, would it be appropriate to eat humans too? Meat may make you feel better in the short term but it’ll prematurely age you. You also get an immune response every time you eat meat. The proper diet for humans is fruitarian. Carnivores don’t even have good bowel movements. Cramming their intestines with meat that is hard to digest further toxifying the body.
@kittykat1960
@kittykat1960 8 дней назад
You are so wrong/deluded. Bowel movements on carnivore are perfect because I eat enough fat with the meat. If we were fruitarians, humans would have died out. They'd have had to eat all day long like cows and sheep and would have more than one stomach to process all the fibre. They wouldn't have had the energy to fend off other invaders either. I have done the vegetarian and vegan thing and keto and carnivore satisfies my brain like nothing else.
@supreme8113
@supreme8113 8 дней назад
@@kittykat1960 I’m not deluded, chill out. I’ve done carnivore for a while and had a lot of trouble 💩’ing but I’m glad it’s working for you. There are plenty of vegans that are fruitarians that seem to have a lot of energy. I recently did a 17 day juice fast and had more energy than ever (I know that’s different). But I’ve been eating a vegan diet since and I feel great. Your long, coiled intestines are not built for a carnivore diet. Since I’ve been on this diet, my poops have been lovely. Falling right out the chute without even having to wipe (I still wipe of course, just saying!). Meat acidifies the body and prematurely ages you, that’s a fact.
