How is giving the violin a try working for you?...lol... Think back when you started playing guitar. Multiply the difficulty 100x. Playing guitar for 42 years. Don't know about anyone else but I can play anything on guitar (notation) in about 3days. Violin 2 weeks to get intonation correct without flats/sharps.

Thank You sir! Just to be historically accurate, it has been well documented that it was the violin that was first used as a melodic accompaniment instrument as early as the 1860's, on plantations, in the rural south United States! And the banjo, not the guitar, was the first chordal instrument used for accompaniment. So, the violin was there in blues music from its very beginning!

This is beyond awesome. Violin is a great instrument for playing blues, even solo. I myself am a big fan of blues with a rather extensive music library, and I know exactly zero published blues recording with a violin. If you know any - please let me know!
