We're building hovercraft for our project, was wondering if you might have any idea on how to connect both lift engines and propulsion engine to only 1 fuel tank. Great video by the way.
Hi. Hmm I don’t really know. It was part of the propulsion kit from viper in Nowra. www.viperhovercraft.com.au/viperhovercraftmultiwingfan.htm The pitch can be set to ensure You can rev the engine sufficiently .
William Houghtaling Hi Mate, I have a air cooled 2 stroke 1024 cc Hirth-Motoren aircraft motor. The model is F30. It develops about 95 Hp. It is used because it only weight 42kg so has excellent power to weight ratio. the downside is that is is lightly built, e.g. I burnt out the starter motor and had to get a new one (a stronger one) made. Plus it is a bit troublesome to start. If I had my time again I would research a secondhand big motorcycle 2 stroke motor with electronic engine management.
+btu00 F30 engine prior to 2005 were troublesome to start. Before discontinuing the 4X series in 2007, we did fit several 3003V engines, which replaced the F30. Much better starting and power, and the incorporation of decompression ports, but the starter was in my view, was still too small for such a large CC engine. The upgraded starter we sold to you has solved that problem. As for a better 4X engine, the 3701 is the ultimate, and there is nothing on the market other than the 3701 that would make your hover perform better than it does now. Mike
+Viper Hovercraft Hi Mike, I have not had any real problems since you built me the new starter. If I run through a bit of a starting procedure each time i don't seem to have any trouble. I am currently rebuilding my trailer to something similar to the pics you sent me some time ago.
