Hello guys ! sad day, very very sad day for us viper main. The agent is just dead, 1 molly mean no more postplant, means more expansive, means just the end. Not only that, but the smoke orb is also fxcked, you cannot pick it up anymore...
Viper Nerfs (8.08)
Snake Bite (C)
- Quantity reduced: 2 - 1
- Price increased to 300
- Duration increased: 5.5 Seconds to 6.5 Seconds
Toxic Screen (E) / Poison Cloud (Q)
- Max time of poison is now12 seconds
- Minimum fuel required to activate increased from 20% to 30%
- Reactivation time after turning off is now 5 seconds
Poison Cloud can be picked up during the purchase phase.

that's what i thought after her last nerf, thinking they will no doubt buff her poison cloud at least in the future. Only to be shocked as they killed her now in ranked, will probably nerf her some more in the future, all so she doesn't get high pick rate in pro play, where 0.0000000001% of the players play.

have no words. solo viper was always impossible to begin with now its just unplayable. you cannot smoke flexibly and you cannot actually replace a sentinel.

I woke up, saw the patch notes. Called my girlfriend to talk about it, i was just opening youtube talking to her and saying "look, viper is just dead now, im sure when i look at Raion's channel there's going to be a video saying she is dead and... oh wait, that is literally the title on his video". Sad. I've put thousands of hours playing her, learning a hundread lineups on all maps, looking and watching viper guides, going to Reddit /ViperMains.... i guess i'll just stop playing valorant

Why? Just why? I think the snakebite isn't op enough to nerf like this. WHY THERE IS ONLY 1 SNAKEBITE?!?! Can't even talk about poison cloud... There is still a lot of agents to nerf which should be nerfed before than Viper if they want nerf Viper like this. This is the most unfair nerf I ever see. As a Viper main, I won't play this game anymore until Viper gets a 'serious' buff. And we should protest the Riot because of this unfair and illogical nerf.

It's because of her pickrate in pro play, which is really stupid because 99% of the playerbase are not and/or have no intention of going pros.

@@yallrfatuglyandunattractive pick rate is just due to map pool, uniqueness of her kit, and the strengths of a second controller, doesn't correlate to nerfing her. Just cause she is picked doesn't mean she is unbalanced.

@@eden4292 a lot of viper's strengths in pro play is really down to poor map design by riot. instead of improving their maps they went for the easy way out effectively killing viper in pro play and ranked where it was already on life support.

Unfortunately it's because she was too strong in pro play. Viper was just op and completely rekt everyone. And the riot balance philosophy is to balance for pros which makes sense. I'm just angry that instead of reworking her to make her a viable solo smokes agent and nerfing her as a double smokes they've nerfed her altogether.

This reminds me of how they purposefully killed Chamber because he was far too dominant. I suspect with Viper's high pick rate at the pro level, Riot has essentially thrown their hands up and intentionally ruined Viper as a temporary solution similar to the Chamber nerfs. The fact that Chamber was fixed up later gives me hope that they can find a happy medium where Viper can be fun and viable again. Though if the Chamber changes are anything to go by, it's going to be a long while before Riot gets to this point with Viper.

Chamber was beyond broken inside and outside of pro play you cannot deny that so the nerf was pretty warranted. Viper however was only really good in pro play unless you had a second smoker. The nerfs they gave her were purely based on pro play even though she’s basically dead now outside of pro play which is utterly stupid of riot

@@hassandabo6288viper was worse. At least a chamber, would kill you to your face. You could out aim a chamber or force him not to be a threat. Vipers could win games by hiding like rats abusing game mechanics in the form of lineups. I get it’s clever but the reason people hated chamber is because he negates their excuse to spend hours in the range aim training, whereas vipers could learn a few lineups and tactics( not that it’s wrong just the part where they were allowed to hide entirely from gunfights post plant) and win games Scot free. Was chamber broken? Yes but he was fine tuned. Why people are upset about viper and how she was op and nobody realised the fact was because she never seemed to kill you with good aim, and nobody likes getting out aimed

in the translation of the china patch notes they talked about leaning into viper's role as control/sentinel that's why they don't allow orb pickup anymore. but the reality of viper is that it is not a real controller and it definitely cannot replace a true sentinel which has completely different role which is to gather info/replace a human watch. if its just anchor ability with the super short smokes+down time and short mollies it cant even compare to other smokers can resmoke nonstop for a long time.

Tbh I would be able to handle all these nerfs(even thou they're still very crucial), but not been able to retake poison cloud during round is devastating and it's absolutely killing Viper. RIP Viper, I will never forget you and all good time we've spent together

max time of 12 seconds is only on 1 util wall/smoke. if you activate them together it's even shorter you likely cant even do the a short bind lurk anymore unless u start all the way up tucked in the corner next to teleporter.

I’ve never been so upset with a viper nerf- I was so shook. She’s been nerved how many times and yet they still need her this hard?! Not being able to pick up her orb and having one snake bite is such an insane part of the nerf. As a Viper main I’m so pissed at not being able to pick up the orb again

This is so stupid! She was in no way strong enough to justify KILLING HER like that. The only reason that her pick rate is so high is because of bad map design and no alternative for line smoking (harbor is very underpowered). I just dont get what they think this'll change. She will still have a DOMINANT pick rate on icebox and breeze, all they're doing is killing her on every other map. And in solo q ranked, I feel like shes gonna be so much harder, at a point were no one is going to play her. I have to manage fuel WAY better, have to be super careful when to use my snakebite and god forbid... I mess up a lineup, im done its ggwp ff go next -40rr derank bronze 1 💀

I got into learning to be a Viper main because of your videos and it was so fun! After the last nerf they did to Viper I started shifting to playing Cypher a lot more. As an ex-Viper main, this hurts man :( We can only hope Riot makes the right choice and buffs Viper immediately after, surely a lot of people disagree with this nerf.

The reason viper was good is because her wall can split the map, and the wall barely got any nerfs. I guess this keeps her role in tact as a wall smoker, but makes her less of a solo controller.

It really sucks that Riot balances their game around coordinated pro play so much. Sure, playing double contoller with viper was op, but now playing her as a single controller in lower ranks will just become impossible. :(

They've been nerfing her every patch or something. She got secretively nerfed recently where they made it so her abilities don't last as long and then her ult goes away much faster outside when it used to stay up alot longer

This nerf was way too much. All she's recieved are nerfs after nerfs. This nerf has made the angent actually unfun, and straight up killed her. I'll try picking up clove. I've been trying to One trick viper, I was sad before with past nerfs, but I could accept them. This is just stupid.
