Yeah, I like it more from NFS Carbon too, without knowing all those details. :))

If you listen closely you'll see why NFS Carbon has better sounds. Also NFS Carbon has engine sounds that give better detail while NFS MW 2005 has just exhaust sounds which basically feels like if one of your speakers is muted using exhaust only instead of engine and exhaust. Overall both games are using the same exhaust sound but NFS MW 2005 has unrealistically high-pitched stock sound that is even more high-pitched than the upgraded one. You can see it clearly doesn't sounds like it revs to 6000 RPM and more likely 7000-7500 RPM which is too high for a Viper to rev like that and it sounds like a BMW M5 E60 (almost). At least in NFS Carbon the engine sound lowers the high-pitch of dod_vip_b which makes it closer to a real Viper but still it is like 500 RPMs off. And probably you think they rev lower yes it is true because he uses automatic for "fair" comparison but in reality the automatic in NFS Carbon is so shit that limits everything and most importantly the top speed. And if you play even NFS UG2 you can see how NFS MW 2005's sound sound bit unnatural compared to NFS UG2 (the way how the sounds accelerate is weird) and for example the unused sub_wrx_b in NFS MW 2005 sounds pretty bad compared to NFS UG2.

@@lokndo9655 Maybe the raspiness is not defined because of the more complicated sound design. It is funny how even NFS UG1 had different sounds for the engine and exhaust like NFS Carbon but NFS UG2/MW 2005 only exhaust. I'm pretty sure you can achieve the same effect as NFS MW 2005 by using NFSVLTED (if you really wanted to) by putting the exhaust sound - dod_vip_b instead of dod_vip_a_eng you'll get the same thing.

Only the exhaust sounds are the same but the engine sounds are not used in NFS MW 2005 though.

@@nerepl1 Not by much honestly. I will say NFS Pro Street is getting even more complicated because each car are using 2 acceleration sounds instead of 1 and the TMX format overall is more complicated than the GIN and that format is used till NFS The Run. Funny how NFS UG1 had engine sounds like NFS Carbon but NFS UG2/MW 2005 didn't.

Usually NFS MW 2005 have less detail because they don't have engine sounds but still not bad. I will say NFS UG2 processed the sounds much better there.
