I'm so very proud of these 2 African American vets. They are a valuable asset to our race. My grandchildren can see themselves in them. And they are A-1, top of their game!!👍🏾🙏🏾❤️

Wonderful thing seeing a guy not only making sure that a bunch of venomous snakes get treated, but also that there's vets who are willing to care for them despite the risk. Venomous snakes aren't any crueler than their nonvenomous cousins, even if they're much more dangerous; they deserve the same level of care and good keeping as any captive animal. It's is exactly why they should never be kept as pets, because a private individual is NEVER going to be able to give them the sufficient care that they require due to the innate risks they pose to their keepers, and if anything terrible ever happens, it's always the snake that suffers

Reptile or exotic vets are nearly impossible to find,especially in my area,basically you have to be their vet and if something goes wrong there’s not much you can do. I do have reptiles,native skinks,and they aren’t prone to a lot of health issues,and for a small lizard,they live for quite a long time,8-10 years.

I actually “kinda” held Paula Dean! 🥰 She’s so long and heavy you can really only hold a portion of her (upper 1/3 to 1/2 😜)! Also got her t-shirt. Love seeing and supporting all of them at the Renaissance Festival! ❤

Bush vipers are great. I love them, i want to own one some day. They arent terribly dangerous, its unlikely that a bite would kill you, especially from one that small. Thats why its not a big deal about there being no antivenom. Antivenom for the saw scaled viper (Echis spp.) may be useful. A bite will definitely hurt and hopefully not take a finger. The bush viper’s venom prevents blood from clotting, and while its pretty unlikely, it can cause internal bleeding which can be fatal
