Thats not true at all. Comedy is about laughs. We all laugh at the same jokes no matter if we are offended or not. Comedy is not abot getting offended. Dave Chapelle is a great example of that. He is one of the best. He offends everyone and still everyone have a decent laugh.

It makes you think about the things you may have been unwilling to think about. The greatest comics are the ones that make people laugh and feel uncomfortable at the same time. Feeling uncomfortable is the first step to critical thought. Comedy is one of the most effective ways to speak to people about things they otherwise wouldn't be willing to listen to.
