Social issues need to be discussed at large. However, generalising the whole country based on some percentage of criminals is not very true as well. See, crimes and criminals are unfortunately part of society but that does not necessarily make the whole society criminal. The message that goes out to the World is "India is not safe for women". Is it so? I don't think so. Narrative plays an important role in deciding the credibility of a country in international politics.
this was my peeve with his narrative as well. He is telling the world that India is unsafe for women, when in effect US is more unsafe with respect to rape statistics.
