@@rashi2479 i used it gradually like once a week (in 2 week time) then twice a week and increase it that way. For me, the result shown like after 6 month.

I used retinol before. In the first week of applying it, my skin burns, and some of the pimples I had hurts so bad that I stopped using it for a month. I decided to give it a go again, and eventually for months on my skin clears and it reduced dark spots, it whitens and there was also a little bit of color in my cheeks like I applied a blush. I stopped using it now and I dont have breaks out anymore.
I used tretinoin just 2 times and giving gap of 1 day in between...but i am noticing small pimples.. does tretinoin purge so fast.? Or should I use less frequently?
A dermatologist I watch said yo face gon go through that acclimation phase foe a bit but you needa remain consistency every time you quit usin it and start again you gon have to go through the acclimation phase over and over again another thing: more isn’t always better use a small amount everyday at night (not gon benefit you if you use it in the morning cuz retinol is light sensitive unless you gon use a time released slow acting retinol) usin more can cause harsh reactions hope I could help you out sis
@@iqrabhat645 my mistake was that i used it 3 times a week, and used it generously on my face. Good thing is, I used it when the pandemic started so even if it was discouraging at first, I still continued it until I slowly saw results, Im talking months. Moisturizer helps. Apply it first and let it dry before you apply the cream. If you go out, apply sunscreen because your skin will become sensitive.

With retinol you have to be really careful with other active ingredients (like AHAs and BHAs, for example) and focus on taking good care of your skin barrier (adding products which contain ceramides, cholesterol, fatty acids, etc.). And gradually building up the tolerance of your skin is also key (starting with just one time a week and slowly working your way up to maybe 3-4, you can use retinol every day, if you want and your skin is okay with that, but you usually don't have to do that and can still get really good results with using it 3x a week). this technique is good, but only if you have the right skin type and the right circumstances. if you don’t live in a humid enviornment, don’t use retinol. also i’m seeing lots of people under 25 in the comments wanting to know if they can use it, PLEASE don’t. it’s anti aging and your skin really doesn’t need that yet. also if your skin is sensitive in any way, don’t do it. hope this helped
People can use anti-aging products earlier than that, it's better to use them early to prevent rather than to start using them when signs of aging already starts to occur
I’ve actually heard that if you start retinol by the time you’re 19 then it can make a huge difference in your later years. It’s never too early to start anti aging treatments.
Your not supposed to wait until you’ve already started aging to use anti aging products. The whole point is to slow it down before it even starts. Most people who started using retinol/retinoids wish they started much earlier. Plus retinol has many other benefits besides anti-aging
Yes !! I upped the retinol I was using and it was too strong for my skin so I did this method and oh the beauty my skin turned !! The San-which method is the cure !!!!
@@Cristy0505 yes it helps me a ton I kept getting a burn too so I use moisturizer first then retinol then moisturizer and what a huge difference! I hope it helps you too
I was so close to buying Cerave resurfacing retinol serum but I changed to Differin adapalene since I have mostly acne issues at the moment. I am at the age where I should be using anti-aging though but I'll see how my skin reacts to adapalene.
@@najeongmosajimidachaetzutw4554 I had to stop using it because I kept getting eczema flare up. Unsure if it’s due to the adapalene, coincidence or another skincare. I should try it again.
You should probably go to a dermatologist for that I know it’s good for some kids but just make sure cuz if it’s not good for your skin it’s gonna rlly mess it up
No retinol is for someone who is 25 above..if u hve acne maybe use niacinamide which helps with acne.. how old are u? If ur too young pls don’t try retinol its not your time yet..
Omg I literally was about to give up because my face is so irritated and I noticed light peeling. I’m gonna give this one more try using this method and hopefully it works because I love the difference it was starting to make. I just can’t handle the irritation 😩😭
I learned the hard way about retinol. I'm using retinoid now, which is a lower percentage and suit for sensitive skin. My skin is way better and healthier.
@@ZangetzTV I use the one for sensitive yet very basic ones that has just enough niacinamide in it, la roche posay toleriane dermallergo creme (light moisturizer). I will also put link below to help you understand acne.
I'm going to try this out! I tried retinol 2 months ago, using it every other night. I started seeing spots all over my forehead I guess the skin is 'purging' I stopped lol.
That's why I love retinol oils bc I use mine (the cosrx retinol oil) as the last step and in the morning my skin is like ✨️✨️✨️but I'm running out so I need another asap!
My purging from first time retinol use was so bad that it left me with tons of ice pick scars, which you can't really get rid off without TCA crossing or CO2 laser. They're huge ice pick scars too :(
as long as you’re remembering to moisturize and use spf you’ll be okay. just look out for signs that your skin doesn’t like it and listen accordingly. i use it year round because it works for me but it won’t for everyone
HELP someone so I started retinol the cerver blue one and at first I was ok then under my right eye like cheek bone and eye bag area I got burnt and it’s red itchy and really dry when I wake up. I’ve stopped any active ingredients and my retniol to try and fix it. I only cleanse and use a toner and hylaronic acid and a La Roche Posay moisturiser. And at night I Ice the area for redness and I apply aupaphore or Vaseline. But I’ve been applying that for 2 weeks now and it’s still there how can I completely make it go? I want my skin back to normal 😭😕 I’m so stupid to try retinol plz help I just want it gone I’m dying SOMEONE PLZ ANSWERRR

Tretinoin babes. Works specifically for acnes. It's a form of a retinoic acid. Basically just a retinoid used solely for dark spots. Hyperpigmentation and even scars
You can use the Differin adapalene. It works well and was a good oil control for me. I have oil skin on my face but while using it my face didn't get as oily as it use to. You can also use tretinoin but that one is a bit harsher than adapalene. While you the latter, I had no irritations but with tretinoin I've been getting these irritations he mentioned but they work better for me than adapalene. Right now, I've been trying to figure out out what to do to help with the irritation. I hope his tip helps. I'm tired of shedding skin so visibly that I look like a reptile. Lol.
I used sandwich method as well but every time I try to put on retinol I get large cystic acnes the next day! 😭😭😭(Which I don't normally have) so then I stop using it then try again weeks/months after but the same result 🥴 even trying another brand of retinol. I'm now contemplating do I really need retinol in my routine 🥲
i was using tretinoid before find my basic skincare i was so clueless in that time, it was 2 years ago now i got my basic skincare but using retinol after niacinamide without double moisturizer it purging lil bit but i want to do double moist now before it get worse
Sadly these things doesn’t work or are not for everyone, especially if very sensitive skin, and Rosacea skin. Been there done that. What people also completly miss id that they don’t fight the underlying cause which is always diet when it comes to skin conditions like acne etc. Besides hormonal that is for women… people treat their acne, then it comes back because they keep eating the same foods that triggers it without being aware. DIARY, sugar and gluten! So it’s just a vicious cycle.
i don't understand how we should actually use this. some said apply hydrating toner or essence and then apply retinol. and then apply moisturiser some said apply essence and then moisturiser . and then retinol some said apply retinol and then apply this essences with moisturiser. if we apply retinol 1st skin will be dry so should we damp skin again for moisturiser and essence ?
Sandwich method didnt save Me from Irritation and purging. Sometimes it will be like this i guess. But dont give, it will get better. For Me, After almostn 3 months till my skin got normal again
@@Nohablogringo- yes. Many say "start using at 21 to reduce wrinkles" but honestly dont. It helps reduce acne and aging at a young age too. Its really good to start at a young age.
No but fr. I would do hyaluronic acid, retinol then moisturizer. But everyone was like noooo, you need to use retinol first. My crusty ass face disagrees
@@gyarufangirl2680 it made my skin all crepey around my eyes and my forehead, it was almost like I had thin old lady skin, it was awful, my skin has improved since but it never went back to normal.

It works for me when am not going out in sun but even with a lot of spf , i get so much irritated if I go out in the sun even doing this sandwich method
Can I use it when I’m 17? I have combination skin and my cheeks are pretty dry. My main concern is skin texture so I wanna use retinol to get rid of that and just make my skin look more healthy
Please don’t use it at 17. If you want to get a healthy skin at that age, just sleep on time and have a healthy diet. Acne’s and pimples are normal at that stage and they will go away eventually. But if you are so worried about them, please go to your local dermatologist.
Your skin is dry. If your skin tolerates it then you dont have to do this. Its just if youre more sensitive then this will help your skin from getting more irritated
