Hello Morgan, I agree the Chanel Les Beige Water Complexion can’t be duped. Just because a product attempts to look similar doesn’t mean it’s the same. I noticed many of these “dupes” don’t last long. I agree with your list. Thank you for sharing this.
Chanel products are honestly shockingly good. I have so much makeup but every time I buy an item from Chanel I feel like a child with a Christmas present all over again because I know,it will be that good.
What’s the most transfer proof Chanel foundation in your opinion? I recently realized I’m obsessed with Chanel foundations. I have 3 already lol. They are all gorgeous. But sadly I have to wear a mask for work and am still looking for the most transfer proof. Thinking to try the ultra le teinte next?
Chanel and Westman Atelier, 100%!! I actually work in beauty product development (at the moment for a “prestige” brand…ahem) and I can’t figure out what magic these two brands use. Literally magical formulas.

The Chanel water fresh, and that little bottle you have is actually to be used as the concealer in addition to Chanel‘s water fresh. The big bottle of Chanel water fresh is less pigmented than the little bottle. I know people are comparing the little one to the cover girl because the cover girl definitely has more pigment beads than the original water fresh foundation. I can easily see that this Chanel fresh is definitely more pigmented and could be used in place of the concealer with the original water fresh . However, who wants to buy both bottles of the Chanel? If I remember, it’s either $70 or $90 each. I think it’s 70.
20:30 as a user of the elf lip oil I can say that it’s a good product. *BUT* 🍑!!! I agree with two of your statements, 1) it’s not really as hydrating as I thought it would’ve been and, 2) It definitely does not smooth over the lines in my lips. For me it’s SUPER THICK, but it’s also kinda sticky. It does last a while but once it’s time to reapply it my lips feel dry and cracked (mainly because I have a habit of chewing on lips to deal with my anxiety and stress) but yeah thought I’d share 😊
You’re right those sharpen-able Nyx lip liners do not dry down. That is one of their older formulas. They have since launched the line loud longwear sharpen-able lip pencils that DO dry down and some retractable longwear ones that also dry down. I own both and the CT and I love them all. You should try one of those the next time you dupe the CT or PM. Thanks Morgan! 💙💙
I’ve been using the L’oréal glotion for years and it used to always be in stock at my local CVS until it exploded in popularity. I have to wait a specific day and time to get it now 😭
I used it on my very pale friend; the secret is to place it on strategic points *under* your foundation for a glow. It’s too metallic over, and the foundation takes care of any undertone mismatch.
I think that this video was very helpful. I saw most of these being described as dups but I feel like you can’t always trust people. I think this was a good representation of what isn’t a dup and why. I like that you are honest about it and actually give us the real differences!
I've used both, and while I'm inclined to believe its better labeled as an alternative than a dupe... Dior was definitely not worth it after how dry and gritty it made my lips feel. Elf doesn't do that for me 🤷♀
If people would just let go of the idea of a "dupe", they would discover good products in their own right. Eg. the Ulta lip oils > ELF but nobody calls them a dupe... Revlon skinlights highlight > Revolution. Much closer to Rare but looks different.
Omg thank you for saying the elf and CT are not dupes. THEY ARENT lol I cannot use the CT as a foundation but can def do so with the elf! But the CT also is a MUCH better highlight for on top!! Such different products!
I’ve wanted to try the CT Flawless Filter for so long but I don’t have CT money so when I got my hands on the ELF Halo Glow I was so excited to have a product similar to a CT product. They’re both beautiful and I hope I can try CT in the future
They are dupes. I have every single color in the ELFS and the CT besides 2 of the darkest shades. They dupe, idc what she says they definitely are almost exactly alike.
I've been lusting after that Dior Rosy Glow blush for a while. It's not a color I'd wear that often, so didn't want to commit the $40.00. I'm glad the Juvia's Place ended up being a dupe! I'll be trying it out :)

Dupe is a hype word used predominately (now) for views. We tend to forget that there is a difference for dupe/duplicate, and comp/comparable. Thanks for breaking these product comparisons down for us :)
Loved the idea of this video. I agree with the Hollywood filter comparison. It. Is. Not. The. Same. I actually prefer the Charlotte tilbury but get why people prefer the elf. For me, Hollywood flawless filter is lighter and I feel it less on the face. Also when I bought the lightest shade of elf it wasn’t light enough for my fair skin. But whatever you prefer, they are not the same.
I am loving that you are doing this for so many reasons! I've noticed it's getting harder to determine which products to invest in or not, so this is a huge help and a breath of fresh air
Love your videos as always. Im not a fan of the dupes. I have skin issues and wven some of the highends can irritate my skin. But I've never found a dupe I can wear. As for Dior formula at your age I just didn't think I could afford it. Now that I do wear it nothing compares and I actually save money because it takes less of the Dior to look good or cover, imo. But like you I absolutely love Dior ❤

I use colors like that for a summer sun burnt look. I use Hourglass Red, and Nudstix reddish color. Dnt rem names at this minute but it's beautiful. For a winter blustery cold look also. I think its beautiful on you just like it is!🎉
The high end side looks so much more snatch and cohesive looking. That pink blush color definitely looks better with a cool toned sculptor than a warm toned one. And I'm "old" now lol and I remember when the word dupe was a bad thing because it meant the packaging was misleading by looking the same but the product inside was garbage. Alternative is always going to be a better word.
You speak the sad truth. I’ve spent way more money trying products that try to knock off chanel than I would’ve if I’d actually just bought the real Chanel product…oh, and eventually I also just caved and bought the real Chanel product 😂
But also…Westman atelier, girl. I have found no foundation better. Not even koh gen do or Chanel can touch the complexion products (although the blush and bronzer sticks, eh)
Hello Morgan, I have never been interested in either the originals or the dupes, for example I have never liked products that provide glow because that is why I buy a glowy base, on the other hand, blue-pink blushes have never looked good on me because my undertone is warm, I also don't like blushes like Charlotte Tilbury's peachgasm that everyone wanted to use because they emphasize texture, the point I'm getting at is that I know my preferences in terms of makeup and that's not why I'm going to follow the trends but rather what that looks good on me. FYI you don't say the 's' at the end of either word in Les Beiges, it's more like "lay beige". Thank you for this explanation, it's totally right, just because the packaging looks the same or the brand tried to make a dupe, many recent 'dupes' just are NOT the same.
I think that yes the products may be different, but I don’t think anyone can say that the “duped” products were not intended to actually serve as a duped product when they were created. 🤷🏽♀️

The Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood flawless filter looks awful on me and it slips and slides forever. It never sets and it makes everything i put on top transfer all over. If i powder then the entire glow disappears so? I don't get it 😂.
When I was in the US went to Ulta to swatch the Juvia's blush and texture wise it doesn't feel the same as Dior but very pigmented. The Dior one feels like one with your skin and lasts a long time on me. I think they are color dupes though.
I actually just found a dupe for the Elf Cosmetics Power Grip Primer + 4% Niacimide Face Primer from the brand Fovcos which is an exact dupe for both the Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Primer and Elf's Power Grip Primer. Elf's Halo Glow Liquid Filter I can't stop wearing it.
You said the hourglass eye crayons aren’t worth the money and don’t have color payoff…. When I bought three anyway and thank god I did! They are amazing and have a ton of pigment.

Elf lip oil definitely isn't a dupe because it's Mint smell, Dior is Cherry. Revolution Bronze Baddie looks similar in the pan and swatched but not a dupe to Rare Beauty Exhilarate, doesn't matter how much I want it to be 🤣🤣😫 and I love Elf Halo glow, never used CT just way too expensive. Bought my second Halo glow, love how it's got coverage, glowy and hydrating feel and about time someone said Maybelline fit me concealer isn't the same as Nars.. been saying that for ages 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I actually thought the covergirl side looked better than the chanel. Maybe bc the elf had more coverage to begin with. Idk. I also thought the highlights looked entirely different. But the mascara looked identical to me. I'd love to see this face after 8hours to really see if the wear test is different.
The Covergirl is in no way a dupe. I feel duped by all the influencers that claimed it was. It's not a bad product but NOT the same in any way on the skin (unfortunately)
I think the Make-up Revolution Highlighter looks better!! And I liked the bronzers equally, so that would just be a saving....I like Revlon Lip liners and lipstick, occasionally a gloss, but the oils don't do it for me. There are differing qualities in Eyepalettes, highend doesn't always mean high quality or good colours...

Dupes are an interesting thing. I chew my lips so I don’t spend that much on lip products because they’ll never last anyway.I prefer less pigmented products so that can go either way. I already have red cheeks so I just tone them down so they are more blush like.
I agree the Lumi Lotion isn't a dupe for the DE. I used to like the DE one better, cause at first I dunno if it was a primer I was using but the LOreal one looked more muddy on me. I stopped using for a bit, then went back to it and it looked good. Dunno if it was the lighting in my room or my eyes were off, but at first I hated it it looked muddy, but now it doesn't.
Maybelline Lifter Gloss is definitely not a dupe for Fenty. If you have one single lip line, the Fenty will find it, pack its bags, and start traveling. No lip liner on earth can stop it. So if that's you, definitely go with the Maybelline 😊

It so great that you're doing this Morgan!! Please continue! In Germany where I currently live, "dupes" are used so loosely and everything is a dupe for everything. Even the German YT Bloggers are promoting the "dupes" and I'm honestly so sick of it. No hate on drugstore makeup even though I rarely use them because most of the time, the higher end brands outperform the drugstore ones. And these RU-vidrs hype the dupes so much, marketing them as always superior but without actually doing a wear-test! It's really frustrating--so much so I've stopped watching them because they're more interested in using the word "dupe" instead of actually testing the makeup/beauty product. Yep, the Loreal is not a dupe for Drunk Elephant BECAUSE THE LOREAL WAS OUT YEARS PRIOR TO DRUNK ELEPHANT! In this case Drunk Elephant is the "dupe" and a really really bad one at that.
I dont care what she says, i own all the CT and the Elfs flawless filters besides the two darkest shades. They are definitely dupes and ill die on this hill. She can think whatever she wants. If you want the CT go ahead and get the ELF its just as good and looks the same, just color match. I find myself disagreeing with a lot of her videos anyway. Like a lot of stuff she hates or talks trash on I and a lot of other totally love and disagree. I cant even finish her videos sometimes because its not all that honest to me, personally. They are absolutely not dupes. The elf is not worth the money, if you’re fair it looks orange and it doesn’t even remotely look as good as CT. I own both and I never have reached for the elf after purchasing CT.

I tried the Maybelline concealer ten years ago before I even knew of the NARS concealer. The Maybelline one isn't good, in my opinion 😂 I can't get down with most drugstore products except for mascara.
