I have been experimenting with the coconut wax by adding paraffin in different ratios. It works well 50 or 75% coconut to the paraffin. It has a beautiful white color.

Thanks for that tip on how to test wooden wick sizes. My mind was literally blown hehe. I had asked WWC direct for their recommendation on wick size based on their testing using said vessel and said wax and was recommended " We recommend burn testing with our Booster .03 x 5/8 and 3/4 with our Aura vessel and virgin coconut creme wax." Haven't purchased the vessel yet to try tho 😂

I live in an " all natural" area and trying to create a line around that. Wanted to get your thoughts on what all natural wax you have found that works the best. soy vs coconut? NG 100% soy? 444?....my top concerns center around performance (cold and hot throw.) I know all natural waxes come with it's own set of challenges but if that's the direction i'm taking it what wax have you found works the best?

I just bought wooden wicks from wooden wick co. but I continue to get these sink holes in the center of my candle (I’m using a traditional 16oz 2x6 candle) I used there virgin coconut wax along with the wooden wick and I want to understand is it due to me pouring too hot or is it a problem with the vessel that I am choosing to pour my candles in? if anyone in the candle community or yourself can guide me a bit into no longer having this issue I’d be very grateful thanks

Hi Standley, been reading the comments and I just need some definition. (1) At what temp did you pour in the FO? (2) At what temp did you pour the wax into the vessels? Cuz from what i've read, you took it off the boiler around 180-185, and added the FO maybe at around 180, or 178 (?) I duno i'm just inferring from the comments. Thank so much!

Hey, i know this is a random question for this video, but what are the measurements for when you are mixing 2 or 3 fragrances?because i m making my own fragrance for a candle i am going to make. mind that i live in Australia,because we dont measure in ounces we measure in grams. :] :]
@StandleyHandcrafted
@StandleyHandcrafted 4 года назад
Leila Aumaleigoa The end amount would always be the same. For example in this demo I used 1.4oz of oil. If you used three oils you’d mix them how ever you want as long as the end result is still 1.4oz Google can convert ounces to grams. 😁

@rodrekatolbert136 4 года назад
Standley Handcrafted once you added the FO the temp didn’t drop tremendously? Or did you keep it in the boiler to keep it at 180? I just ask because my temp drop to 170 or a little lower by the time I stir for 2mins and pour in jars. Can you do a review using a candle science FO and see if the CT is still strong?

Toxins are in the paraffin wax
@ernief1879
@ernief1879 4 года назад
Because a lot of people where led to believe that Paraffin is toxic and is going to kill you when in fact it really isnt. Even this company Lab and Co has posted literature explaining this because even this coconut wax he is demonstrating has Paraffin in it. All the top candle companies in the world use Paraffin just so you know. You still get toxins from Soy wax because of the chemicals used by Monsanto in growing Soy, so if people think its any safer, it isn't. Go research for yourself and you will see. If Paraffin was so bad all of our parents, grandparents, etc would have been ill years ago from candles, and it just hasn't been proven. Paraffin is the easiest wax to wick and is a far superior product. But with all that being said this Virgin Coconut/soy wax is a nice wax to use if you don't mind the high price, just don't expect to get the same hot throw as you would get from any Paraffin candle. Also for whoever is interested, this is the same wax that Candles and supplies sells in slab form.
