So glad I found you guys! My 1st Virgin cruise is in 43 days out of San Juan, and I am in the same hotel! I've seen reviews about a lot of construction as they are transitioning. Did you all have any issues with that? I'm definitely going to see who has the best Pina Colada🍹

Glad you are here! There is definite construction in the lobby and probably elsewhere, but it did not necessarily negatively impact our stay. On our last day post cruise, we also stayed there and the morning that we checked out, the power went out three times but just for a few seconds each time. Noise was not an issue for us in a bay view room and the room appeared to be updated. You are going to love Virgin!

How far in advance did you book the hotel? Thanks for sharing!

We only booked the cruise about two months out, and I booked the hotel within a few days of that. I'd you want to stay in San Juan, I would book a refundable rate asap and just keep checking periodically for rate drops just in case. We booked another VV out of San Juan for next March, and I have already booked the hotel.

@@Diserella I just booked a VV (Resilient Lady) for next March and just started looking for hotels. I don’t see dates yet that far ahead.

@@Tom-rd9qpYoy are right! I should have said January, not March. I guess I have booked too many cruises recently.😂 Hotel bookings are typically available 330 days out, so give it another month or two.

what is security like? strict? how long to get through? just like tsa?

It was like any other cruise. It was fairly quick except for the line to drop off baggage. The security scanners are a lot like TSA, however, you do not have to take off shoes and belts or take laptops out of your bags. Hope that helps!
