I don't understand why anyone really needs an adviser. I spent 4 years at VCU....I read the catalog, read the requirements of my major, and understood the number of credits and courses I needed in order to graduate. It's your education, so take some initiative and learn what is required of you as a students and what is needed to graduate. Read the catalog, it's all there.
@@crimony3054 contrary to popular belief, it's not actually a great art school. It's alright. The main problem is the lack of talent. The art and music programs are both severely lacking in talent because VCU is not the first choice school for most applicants, so most great artists/musicians go elsewhere.
Most schools are attempting to accommodate other races -- some are traditionally white and trying to accommodate blacks. Others are traditionally black and trying to accommodate whites. VCU has always been a well-integrated school. When I was there in the early 1980s, I lived and ate with black students in the medical school cafeteria, while the current Virginia governor was attending a different medical school and dressing in blackface for the yearbook.
I have been to the VCU dining hall many times, all days of the week and times of day. I have never seen any difference in the quality of the food. It is all good stuff. I am not sure where this point is coming from as it has not been my experience at all. Maybe something has changed since this person attended.
