I came across a guy out mountain biking the other day that was 80 years old. He was going pretty easy, but he was still going! If only we could all be so lucky!!
" so we're out here living free riding hard getting stoked, doing something different but pretty much the same" love that reference. That little moment of "I didn't forget you guys". So cool
Reddish knob is one of my top trails in my books. Those punchy climbs are well worth it. After every uphill there is a long DH section. Going back ASAP. GREAT VIDEO Brian.
I love how cute a couple you and Sarah are and how cool it is that you two are doing what you love and sharing it with us… Thank you for making these videos… I look forward to them every week
I rode trails like this in Virginia recently, it is amazing how current technology is able to handle all of this rough terrain. I found it so amazing how good a shape my suspension and tires came out afterwards. The manufacturers of mountain bike suspension and frames are top notch in my book. This is why mountain bikes are so expensive because they are expected to routinely handle rough trails like this all the time. Very good idea to make sure your bicycle is in good working order before you attempt these trails, and suggest you take tools and tire repair. I don’t know how old you are, but I am still mountain biking in my 60s and riding trails like this with arthritis and other health concerns. All I have to say is the bikes are a blessing and having a ebike in your stable is a big plus.
I was thinking “Man, I don’t know about a line of bags that say “Db” on them… what if people think it stands for…” and then I saw you cut the tags off! 🤣
haha love the ending! Sarah is such an awesome addition to the vids! She's funny, she rips, and she seems to bring out the best in you! Brian, I am ashamed to say I'm finally catching up on about a years worth of vids! Thank you always for the content. You helped get me back into riding like 6 years ago and haven't looked back! Keep the dream alive my friend! Maybe ill see you on the trail!
Traveling down to VA tomorrow, My wife and would ride Hatfield trail systems on our dirt bikes. I have since gotten back into mountain biking and think I will hitting this trail for sure. Anyone feel free to message me if you want to get a group together in the coming weeks.
Glad you got Reddish under your belt. That is definitely a must do. Here is the crazy thing though, you didn't actually hit ANY of the trails around Stokesville. All of the SM100 course is on display around Stokesville which is roughly 100 miles and a good 50 percent of that is singletrack. Rides like Tillman West, Lookout Mtn, Hanky/Dowells. You could come back and just spend time at stokesville. Nice work though. I think you captured that area pretty well.
the db ski/board bag is awesome, i have one. Company was started by Jon Olsson who was a top level pro skier with multiple Xgames medals in Slopestyle, Big Air and Pipe, now does vlogging. the original name was hilarious, but maybe not the most marketable, definitely shows their transitioning into a full brand and not just appealing to mountain dirt bags (ie large children).
Continuing all the way down timber ridge is no where near as fun IMO. It's basically two track that's grown into singletrack. It's blistering fast in a rut with tall grass on both sides with not many features to speak of. Wolf, tilman west, dowells, braleys, death star, chesnut, magic moss and lookout are the best ones for sure
Wolf ridge is really fun, but imo the upper part of Timber Ridge isn't that amazing overall. It's worth doing it if you shuttle it, but not worth the climb. I'd rather climb Sand Springs to the top of wolf ridge and go down from there. @BKXC you would love lookout mountain if you ever come back!
AWESOME! looking for some dakine trails not too far from NOVA. proud owner of a 2021 Ibis RipmoAF dressed in DVO suspension and SRAM Eagle NGX components. saw your trips at Bryce and scanning other options. less than a 2hr drive from NOVA to Harrisonburg. 🙏🏻 😎 🤙🏼
Was it just me or were your handle bars doing that rubber pencil thing with all those bumps? Lol You know where you hold a pencil in the middle and wiggle it and it looks like rubber. Nice ride
Love the bike design ru-vid.comUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L and functionality. It is hard to align the front tired to center the disk brakes. The brake wheel touches the stationery side of the brake caliper and pad. I aired the tire up to 40 psi as the markings say 40-60psi. Left the house for a few hours and came back to an exploded innertube. All in all it seems to be a good bike. Have not ridden it yet though so that's the max of my knowledge. Update, put a new innertube made sure the tire was set properly and it did the same thing in under 20 minutes as second pic shows.
That isn’t the type of mtn biking I enjoy. I enjoy relaxing when I ride and I also enjoy climbing. Seems mtn bikers only like descending. There is no workout in that.
