They actually cared and did not have a consumer milking strategy, coin-op was enough, and for coin-op they had to give best experience in 5-10 min span so people would keep coining. This is why these games were great.
the stupidity at sega its unlimited,they had this diamond and they let it vanish,with a minor fixes at gameplay they could have the best football game ever.The game have the best feeling of any other football game out there,the only problem with virtua striker was the big input delay and the restricted move set along with animation.After touch was perfect in this game especially in fouls.
Great video! I spend so much money in the arcade on vs2. I used to watch a Japanese guy playing it, he would win every match 6 or 7-0 he would shoot from anywhere. I owe so much to that guy making my experience of vs2 so much better.
Just curious so out of all the Virtua Striker series which one is the best? Is it the last one Virtua Striker 4 version 2006 because of all the fixes? I'm asking because I've tried to ask before but many say Virtua Striker 2 is the best. So then I ask why not 3 instead of 2? And they usually reply they didn't like how the fatigue system was introduced. So then I tried asking why version 98 and not 99 or 2000? And that one was even more confusing. So to those out there who've played them all, which one to you is the best? Thx in advance!

@@battosaijenkins946animations in VS3 are worse than VS2 I find. I used to have the Gamecube version of VS3.
I played the first and the second so much in the 90s and early 00s. I loved it. Funny thing is that i never even saw or cared about the 3rd and 4th versions. I guess i was too into W11!
i know i might sound cringe or oldie, i remember this game on my local old (now deceased) arcade but don't remember exactly version, maybe was the 2 or 3. But what mindblow me is the first Virtua Striker. 1994. One year after DOOM. Ok looking now is very horrible, but at times i think it was galaxies AHEAD of all FIFA until even 99-2000. Polygonal models, 3D ball, bar shoot power. Amazing.
Another goldmine of a IP that got dropped SEGA. SEGA is probably the biggest-what if in video game history in terms of being publishing, console and software developer.
