They probably didn't do it that way, but rather built it up piece by piece. E.g. One person records one part with the conductor. Then section leads record themselves to that recording, then everyone else records themselves with an edited-together version with the leads, then someone gets the fun job of editing everyone's recordings together.
Still moves me to tears. This was done 10 days after school had to close due to COVID. These students recorded individually from their homes and Ben put the piece together. It showed the strength and love shared by their community, which have carried them through the pandemic.
Absolutley stunning. The performance is incredible of course but THIS arrangement of THIS song is one of the all-times peaks of music. I don't even think I'm being hyperbolic.
I think the bottom left-hand corner guy is my fav for looking like the choir's DJ just itching to drop the beat for the EDM remix. Bottom right-hand corner guy deserves a special shoutout for perfectly embodying every Twitch gamer streamer ever. Much love and many prayers sent everyone's way, this was amazing 🙏❤
I somehow managed to go my entire life without hearing this song. I just listened to the original recording a little while ago and accidentally stumbled on this video shortly thereafter. This is such a complex song. It has a style that seems so incredibly unique in the world of pop music: jarring sequences of high and low tones, intricate changes in volume and tempo, and a highly unusual rhythm and vocal cadence. Because of its complexity, this song works very well as a choral piece, and this performance was absolutely breathtaking.
Doesn't matter what we look like, nationality, age, size, gender....singing brings the world together. It is said that when we die, Song is what is in our minds as we drift away.
Listen to this one like 50 times, beautiful made, best one i found personally on the internet. u can be proud of yourself :) I really like the parts, like 0:47, when u hear the massive changes from only high frequency voices (girls, high pitched man) , to the full spectrum of the entire frequency's (deep man voice), u instantly hear how width it actually sounds at that part. Really opening to the,, kingdom'' :D! Good work!
Where are we? What the hell is going on? The dust has only just begun to form Crop circles in the carpet Sinking, feeling Spin me around again And rub my eyes This can't be happening When busy streets A mess with people Would stop to hold their heads heavy Hide and seek Trains and sewing machines All those years They were here first Oily marks appear on walls Where pleasure moments hung before The takeover The sweeping insensitivity of this Still life Hide and seek Trains and sewing machines (You won't catch me around here) Blood and tears They were here first Mm, what'd you say? Mm, that you only meant well Well of course you did Mm, what'd you say? Mm, that it's all for the best Of course it is Mm, what'd you say? Mm, that it's just what we need You decided this Mm, what'd you say? Mm, what did she say? Ransom notes keep falling out your mouth Mid-sweet talk, newspaper word cutouts Speak no feeling, no, I don't believe you You don't care a bit, you don't care a bit Ransom notes keep falling out your mouth Mid-sweet talk, newspaper word cutouts Speak no feeling, no, I don't believe you You don't care a bit, you don't care a bit (You don't care a bit) Oh, no, you don't care a bit Oh, no, you don't care a bit Uh-uh, you don't care a bit You don't care a bit You don't care a bit
I heard a ton of Covid performances, but just found this now. I am almost glad I didn’t discover it a few years ago. It is a wave of heartbreak and melancholy looking back at what we had to endure. It would have brought me to my knees at the time.
Wonderful! I love seeing Heap perform this song but her dynamics are so exaggerated that bits get lost. It's so nice to hear these harmonies in full choral mode like this. Bravo!
This is so beautiful. Well done. I also love that you can tell one of these guys is a conductor because of his hand movements. I image it's impossible to keep your hands still when you know how to conduct! It's like dancing for the hands.
Stunning and moving!! Listened to this about 10 times in a row when I first heard it. This choir’s chords, dynamics, phrasing, lilt, emotion - all pristinely phenomenal. Could listen to you all day!
Ummm wow. This is so good I have no words. The harmony, the unity, the breathtaking beauty... Even how the center frame changed to highlight a particular voice... Just WOW. Why so few views??? Should be way more! Thank you!
As a huge imogean fan for years this is one of my favorite songs. Today I stumbled on her love performance and started hearing covers. Hands down this is the best most accurate to song version I’ve heard so far including her own performances. It’s beautiful
