Join us on an early morning hike to Mystery Lake on Mt. Seymour.
Situated within the stunning landscape of Mt. Seymour, Mystery Lake offers an intriguing destination for outdoor enthusiasts and nature seekers alike. Our hike will lead us through a well-marked trail, where the elevation gain provides a moderate challenge for hikers of various skill levels.
Mystery Lake is a serene and picturesque sub-alpine lake. Surrounded by lush forests and rugged terrain, it's a perfect spot to go for a swim or just immerse yourself in the tranquility of nature. The lake's calm waters reflect the towering nearby trees, creating a peaceful and reflective atmosphere.
During our ascent to Mystery Lake on Mt. Seymour, we encountered a persistent presence that added an extra layer of challenge to our hike - the pesky horseflies which you will see and hear. These relentless insects seemed to have made it their mission to circle me (and bite) throughout the entire journey. At one point a horsefly decided to make a close acquaintance with our camera lens. As we documented the hike, this persistent insect seemed determined to become a part of our footage.

It is gorgeous but so many bugs in the summer. Hope you caught the horsefly walking on the camera lens.

Yes, it’s a gorgeous spot…only 30 minutes away from a major city too! Thanks for watching.

Another great hike! It looked like you ran into a swarm of bees, and I couldn’t tell if it was a bee or a fly that did the monster lens attack. I had to laugh. If it was bees you were contending with, thank you for persevering for us out here. Thank you for sharing your beautiful country. Keep on hiking 🥾

There were 2 or 3 horseflies relentlessly following me the entire way up. They took a few chunks out of my skin too 😂. Thanks for watching!
