This visualization is the eighth of a series depicting various OPFOR tasks for the Virtual OPFOR Academy. This visualization depicts an OPFOR company detachment executing the OPFOR task of executing an all arms air defense.
This module is designed for company level units assigned an OPFOR mission during home station training. By the end of this module you should have an appreciation for the subtask synchronization of an all arms air defense.
The BLUFOR representation is only to provide context to OPFOR actions, and is not intended to represent current BLUFOR TTPs.

Very interesting. Some weapon systems shown here are used in an AA role that I would not otherwise have imagined (would be there use).

Maybe set to airburst, or use smoke rounds ?

@@aethelwolfe3539 both of those would work I imagine. Also the T-90 main gun being used in this capacity to shoot down helicopters. Also mortar rounds can use proximity fuzes which might increase their anti-air for helicopters in a PEL.

@@26Rudders think its more used as a way to force helos away from good positions that allow them good visibility or force them into areas of fire. The mortars arent being relied upon to take out the helo but are used as area denial.

I love these videos, OEC G&V please make more! i tried finding the page on facebook (used link on the channel page) but the facebook page gave an error saying the page does not exist anymore as I read the comments I've seen how much these videos help current members of the military and ones panning on joining (like me) and would just like to say thank you for creating the videos they're informative and instructive to anyone even those without any military knowledge just like for you guys to know you're work is incredibly appreciated and to please make more! Videos like this in an age of technology where anyone can access them, videos like this are extremely helpful and important for the public and a great refresher for any in service member! (sorry for spamming this on all your videos just want to make sure you guys know you're doing an incredibly important public service! and that its appreciated)

RPGs are designed to self-destruct after flying the 900m maximum range. It is for this reason that they have been used specifically at that range before as an AA weapon due to the airburst shrapnel.
