also im freaking emotional after the commentator said ,,who knows whats in store for those two"... fastforward 14 years later they're the greatest ice dancers of all time
One of my favorite little detail is that 0:27 as they get into position, Scott is sliding his right hand down Tessa’s right arm towards her hand. The camera cuts away but he is undoubtedly about to squeeze her hand (a thing that they do often before they start) like he did at worlds . He nuzzles into her cheek to cheek for a second. I used to think that was their starting position but it’s not (temple to temple is) Cheek to cheek was just another way they connected with each other and comforted each other before they started. And you can see him whisper something to her -also something else that they said they did a lot of. I love that they did this stuff even when they were young. Here is a link to the worlds where if you really look carefully and your screen is big enough/clear enough, you can see that she winks at him, and then he winks at her before they start. (I'll go back to the link and try to time stamp it) And then they squeeze each other's hands after they start. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oEJeiQOHD2k.html super cute
So cute - at around 0:33 it looks like Tessa is asking Scott, "Are you okay?". The camera zooms out before I can read Scott's lips, but I imagine he answered, "Yeah". Also, at 2:08, funny how Scott yells, "Whoa!", just as they twirl past the Judges table - as if to say, "Hey! Watch this!"
This was the first time that I saw them. I went "wow". They skated like seniors. Then I got to see them live at the world junior figure skating championships in 2005. I knew they had the potential to become Olympic champions. (The other one was Yu Na kim of South Korea).
This was the first time I saw V&M skate. I will always remember SLB in the audience going "wow". The second time, was at the World Junior Figure Skating Championships in Kitchener, Ontario. The year was 2005. I went with an American friend at the time. I went away from the event with the belief that I witnessed two future Olympic champions at the event (If all went well). Those future champions were V&M, and Yu Na KIm of South Korea.
Haha. I remember feeling that way when I was about 15 watching Gordeeva (16 at the time) and Grinkov win the 1988 winter pairs skating Olympics. FYI: those two skated together as young kids, had Maria Zueva as a coach/choreographer back then (later Scott's and Tessa's coach), fell in love, had a kid, retired, then came back to win the 94 Olympics.
Wow! Even st a young age they were already good! And in this event, they were already skating together for 7 years! 2019 and they’re still together! 😃 Made me smile 😊
yes I know but I get so angry today just looking at them kidding themselves they have found real love with some one else?2023 Scott consoling himself for whatever reason with his hang along other female skater who got pregnant (of course she didn't know about birth control) and there with the oldest trick in the book she hooked him. Tessa with her perpetual smile waited till her thirties and sure she's found the love of her life? When the truth is he was always there right beside her.THERE ARE NONE SO BLIND AS THOSE WHO WILL NOT SEE!No no apology. They are even the right star sign as if that wasn't obvious.Or maybe it is better this way!It is now frozen in time untouched and perfect?....
¡¡ Gracias, hermoso video, excelente actuación, desde jóvenes ya se destacaron, fueron maravillosos, compañeros, llegaron tan legos, los más premiados de Canadá, es un placer verlos !!👏❤🇦🇷
Never notice that at 0:54 (rewind so you can see it) I think Scott nods upwards and winks at the judges. And right after 2:08, you can see him look directly at the judges and do a loud whoh as he speeds by. The confidence he had was staggering. Most 16 year olds would have been scared. They both skated with so much speed and confidence. That’s part of what set them apart.
