I know what you mean, but it's not true that people in the past were kinder to one another than they are today. That's called romanticising the past and maybe thinking about specific small communities, but in reality and in the grand scheme of things the further back you go in history the more brutal people were to one another (think slavery, genocide, treating women as sub-humans/property). As a species, we collectively gradually grow to be more empathetic and less discriminatory.
@@elliest55 I agree. Try to search V/M 2006 programs. They were 17 & 19 then. In the 4 Continents FD Tessa fumbled with an awkward recovery which I think cost them some score points. After the performance, Scott was visibly pissed and Tessa was embarrassed. He wasn't kind to her at all. I think Marina their coach told him not to behave that way. He improved thereafter - of course. But just goes to show that Scott was not always kind to Tessa & solicitous of her as you might think. Many fans lionize him to high heavens. I don't.
