I know Tessa and Scott said once that they couldn't perform this program to it's best form because of how much they were sidelined due to her injury, but goddamn, this is undoubtedly one of my favourite programs from them.
I agree. They have been (ehmm... ARE) the greatest under all aspects. Techical skills (edges, long legs, timing, sync, smoothness in transitions, body movements and lines...) and emotional ones (connection, chemistry, interpretation, performance, ability to catch the mood of every piece of music they dance to......) They have everything required in ice dancing even sensuality an beauty. They deliver the ALL package. And more their longevity and versatility is stunning. Even T/D tried to come back. But it did'nt work...
Worthy successors to Torvill and Dean. The technical skill is unmistakable, the artistry is superb and the chemistry is incandescent. As good a blending of music, art and skill as I've ever seen.
Virtue and Moir are in a class by themselves. If in doubt, look at their body of work on You Tube! Sorry, but I don’t think PC can even so some of their earlier programs - look at the edges, lifts, feetwork, synchronicity, let alone chemistry. Nobody comes near what they do in technicality & artisty. They make the difficult look easy.
Spectacular display by Scott Moir and Tessa Virtue. Excellent synchronization between the music and the skaters’ movements. They seem to have a huge artistic sense , and they clearly have Dance in their Souls . Furthermore, Scott and Tessa express great joy , great empathy and complicity between them in their performances. Their displays provoke moments of happiness and well-being. Thank you for your professionalism , which allows us to enjoy excellent moments of the best in figure skating.
This performance is mesmerizing. No doubt they have been (ehmm... ARE) the greatest under all aspects. Techical skills (edges, long legs, timing, sync, lifts, smoothness in transitions, body movements and lines...) and emotional ones (innovation, daring, connection, chemistry, interpretation, performance, ability to catch the mood of every piece of music they dance to......) They have everything required in ice dancing even sensuality and beauty. They deliver the ALL package. And more their longevity and versatility are stunning. Even T/D tried to come back. But it did'nt work...
Кто бы там что ни говорил они потрясающие танцоры. В них все превосходно. Других таких нет. Они идеальны во всем. Их хочется смотреть на повторе бесконечно. В них невозможно не влюбиться. Самые лучшие.
The Queen and the King oh the ice without doubt. More I’m watching videos from Tessa and Scott more I’m speechless and deeply under their spell ❤️❤️❤️🇨🇭
I always forget how awesome this program is until I rewatch and wonder how I can ever forget. Amazing already. Even more so knowing they hadn’t trained it to it’s potential. Another top team skated to this opening music also. The lifts were all amazing in one way or another. But they also did a great spin combo and choreography was fantastic too. So many neat details. Like I said before, why do I forget how much I like this program?
@@jennyw5976and always, ALWAYS, setting her down softly, she is ready tomorrow keep, going without a hitch. His partnering skills are just jaw dropping.
People always seem to tend to compare apples to oranges. Torvil and Dean had much stricter parameters to follow when they were competing. Go back and watch T & D's 'Song of India.' There are such amazing moves under such tighter restrictions. Why does one have to be better than the other? In their eras, they both reign supreme.
I really cant believe, how scot can do this un believable talent, with no mistakes. Nobody in this word can do this. The best indeed! Congratulation for them both.
Having seen it again, I can't help but express the multiple good emotions I feel , when I see Scott and Tessa dancing Pink Floyd, who , together managed to transform this well-rhythmic Pink Floyd song into a true PIECE of THEATER ART. What we see here is the HUGE MUSICAL SENSE of Scott and Tessa , being totally EXPRESSED in the ENORMOUS FLEXIBILITY movements of Scott and Tessa's BODIES, who dance in full connection with each other, and with perfect dance movements. Scott and Tessa are exceptional in the Art of Ice Dancing . It seems that they love music , they deeply feel the different sounds of music, and having great empathy and good knowledge of each other, they dance in the ice rink in a relaxed way, and in perfect connection with each other . Scott and Tessa transform the ice rink into a truly wonderful dance show.'
Can you imagine Mozart or Beethoven's routine (P/C 2015/2018 FD) danced by Vitrue/moir ? I can't. Each team is unique and they definitively have a different dance style !
Yes I can very very well.. Clearly you don't know at all their career..... Go and see their FD at 2010 OG (Symphony No. 5 by Gustav Mahler) or their "Valse Triste" by Sibelius.... They have been true pioneers in ice dance, P/C are only pale followers in the so called "lyric/artistic way" to dance on ice ....V/M are able to dance EVERYTHING better then anyone else... They have true VERSATILITY... P/C haven't it, , quite the same soup every year. Sorry but that's it. Only the greatest can dare changing the game.... changing style every year ..... being on the top for 12 years..... So far I don't see anyone who can tie them
paolasusanna yes I’ve already watched their 2010 fd and I do think it’s not their best style (I’m not saying it was not beautiful because it was). They actually didn’t skate a lot of time on a classical music and I really think they could not be as good as Guillaume and Gabby if they were dancing on the same routine (2015/2018) because both team have a really different approach with the ice. I’d rather see virtue and moir dancing on le moulin rouge than mozart.
I won't try to convince you about the fact that VM are head and shoulders above PC. French legendary and well known chauvinism is something which you can't fight against. Because your chauvinism you'd be able to state that Jesus died because of freeze. And the fact, as you tell, that VM have't had danced on classical music lately (not true indeed, in my opinion Latch IS modern classical music) don't make them less able to do that (and do that better then anyone else) Simply they tried NEW paths because they are so great and versatile that they can do everything without being afraid to fail. This is the REAL greatness. To be great in everything you do. PC have been doing the same things for years. They don't dare. As a consequence they are good ice dancers, not great ice dancers and much less as good as VM
I just noticed at 4:27 Tessa seemed to have difficulty walking and it continued as they walked out of the ice. This was probably the first time she’s going to have a surgery.
By chance, I've seen the freestyle of Delobel / Schoenfelder to the same music: what a difference: D / S seem compared to V / M conventional and slow. How modern and innovative V / M seems.
I’m no choreographer but I wonder if they’d switched the songs around ie Money first then Great Gig in the Sky second it may’ve been more dramatic?! 🤷🏻♀️ Taking nothing away from them - they’re superb!
A very demanding program. Unfortunately they did not pursue this line (more jazz, more innovation and more experiments). They may not be completely convinced. It would have been a challenge (even a risk).
I didn't realise she has had a nose job done... it's the first early video of them that I watch. That said, even then, they made it all look easy as pie, even during those incredible lifts... they're in a class of their own.
M. H. Actually, I just sah a Spanisch pair (2018!) in the GeandPrix competitions: they choose the same music. But what a difference! And so I agree whith you: this free programm whould be good enough in the present. But i‘m not sure, if the audience whould accept this special and sophisticated performance.
They got bronce overall (first or second in this FD). You have to watch this considering that she wasn't able to train until that january due to a surgery and that the aftermaths of the surgery didn't allow them to run the program entirely until the practices of the event. Their coach said that this is their mayor acomplishment
Imagine believing this tacky choreography, exaggerated expressions, carless handling of musical nuances was impressive artistically. It was impressive as sport - minus the botched element at the end - the lifts extremely challenging, though obviously labored and hideous against the music. But as dance and as art - one of the least impressive in the event.
