Charlie an Meryl show in this way how much great champions they are: I adore Scott and Tessa but it is impossible not also love the American team. Their nice gesture deserves a gold medal ! Both the two pair are by far the two more fantastic pairs of whole ice dance skating. Good luck for Nice..
Meryl is literally the sweetest person. I feel like the dynamic of their friendships has changed. It didn't seem as though they were as close anymore during the Sochi Olympics.
nightswimmer99 That's my first time seeing this video as well. It was really a great show of sportsmanship and respect from Meryl and Charlie. I think that over the years, their rivalry became a little more intense. Tessa and Scott weren't as friendly when they were on the losing end of the competition. It was nice to see anyway.
+nightswimmer99 I believe that their fallout was partly due to the fact that their coach was pitting them against each other, and partly to the fact that Meryl dated Tessa's ex boyfriend after he'd been an absolute jerk to her, a big "no no" in my book. Nevertheless, it isn't fair to call Tessa and Scott unsportsmanlike, if you look at the video shot right before the flower ceremony at the Sochi Olympics, you'll find that they congratulated Meryl and Charlie very warmly, in spite of the unfairness of their ranking. Perhaps they seemed less friendly because they are sincere, genuine people. Being able to fake affection isn't something to be proud of, in my opinion.
MissFawlty The ranking was correct, nothing unfair about it - not in Vancouver, and not in Sochi. The boyfriend business I know nothing about, and care even less since i only follow the skating, not the dating - their private lives are their own in my opinion. I'm sure they're all very fine people and are busy making the rest of their lives a happy place to be. They have a fine legacy to look back on and perhaps we should enjoy that now, rather than trading in veiled barbs all these months later. I have moved on, I suggest you do the same.
