Bottom line: There's almost no difference whatsoever that would push the *average* player to buy the Spire IV. None. A firmware update that only works with select guns? Come on people if your hopper can hold over 200 balls, has an anti-chop and anti-jam system, and comes with an easily interchangeable mechanism for speed feeds while ramping to 10 bps with ease, you really don't need to spend an extra $100 upgrading. I mean shoot, minus the overall capacity even the old Halo Too hoppers can keep up with these and not miss a beat. Stop falling for the shiniest toy on the shelf folks and get wise to the industry.

Hit the nail on the damn head when you mentioned that the feed logic could of been just a software update for the Spire 3! This is an anti consumer move on Virtue making you buy a whole new hopper for a software update. Just buy the CTRL if you want the Spire 4 feed logic software. You loose a little compacity but CTRL has been on sale for as cheap as $189 usd, the Spire 4 is $250.

Totally understood man. Some people also really like the balance that comes with that more standard Spire shell too though! A little differentiation never hurt, especially since the CTRL is available!

Layer electrical tape and trim it to size and set it in the grove of the button cover. Works well

nice video. There is a simple fix to the CTRL power button - use a rubber bumper on the inside. Totally fixes the issue. I wish the size and shape of the CTRL had the hinge and nylon filled plastic of the Spire... that would be the perfect hopper.

@@PunishersPaintball I use the grey ones myself - it gives the perfect clicky push. You can use the clear one if you like more rigid feedback when you press. Either way for less than $10 you can fix an army of CTRL hoppers! Hopefully, BK addresses this simple issue in a revision.

@@PunishersPaintball i just used a hole punch for paper on an old gift card. the little plastic disc shims the button and takes away the squishyness

The Bluetooth thing is nothing more than a gimmick, i get trying to come up with new stuff to sell a " new " model but its basically useless, a IR2 will feed exactly the same for half the price and uses a tried and true eye system that is bullet proof.

I believe it released after this video, but the Spire IV can also synch with the CS2/CS2 Pro now for all of the Planet Eclipse users out in the wild.

I got one of these Spire 4's from punisherspb last week and got to use it over the weekend, and so far no problems. I have put 1 1/2 case through it, no jams of course, no problems with it loading when I reload which was an occasional problem I had with the spire 3, I had no issues at all with it and during a nxl full auto 15bps test, it fed just as consistently as a faster loader would, so first impressions, I am very pleased so far with my new Spire 4. Thanks again punisherspb :-)

With the CTRL the location of the motor combined with the NTR fingers blocks a large portion of the loader inside, when loading I can only load 140 if I'm closer to 80% & tilt my CTRL at 45deg angle. With my HK speed feed/HKSpeed I was able to load fine even with 40ish balls left... Now with the NTR & the CTRL I have to either lift the lid or take 3x time to load. Functionally my 180round Speed actually held same amount of balls after the break, If you have any kinda budget the HK speed is a great alternative to the $320 monstrosity the CTRL is with all options installed

I had 2 HK Speeds, which worked great, UNTIL both broke at the feed neck! I have since switched to the CTRL and Spire 3 and love them! I play a combo of Mech & Electro and have no issues with feeding in either. I do agree that the loading of balls into the CTRL is not as quick as the Spire or Speed, but it's not that big of a deal, since if I'm playing the back with the CTRL, I hold the pod of the top of the speed feed until all the balls are in the loader. Most of the time, if I'm playing Airball, I use the Spire 3 anyway. The CTRL is my RecBall/Woodsball loader.

@@CSULA21 its funny you say that when my first one's motor broke I sold the shell for quite a bit. Maybe I should have saved it, it was the original shell from 6 years ago & had no cracks. O well at least its just my back up. I know now that its confirmed the feednecks do in fact break... one thing I noticed it is balanced but not on all its axis sometimes it causes my marker to dip side to side because its top heavy my CTRL dose not wobble regardless how I hold my marker. I dont know if buying 3 hoppers is an option for most people paintball can be cheap if you use pump or astronomic if you love spraying paint..... I wish my area had more mech or mag fed events it saves money on paint (if you dont use FS) & I think its more interesting

Yeah, well said. I exclusively use my CTRL for recball for this reason. It's well balanced and light, but the reloads are slow by comparison and require my attention. I think the CTRL would benefit from the Crown SF for sure, but it'll still be slow.
