The age of shorts is truly upon us. So is the tragedy of the ones who are suffering. Visa is a short film that captures the struggles of a family who want to flee to a safer haven. Watch it now
I did not know that it was a ten rupee note untill i read the comments... but that 10 rupee note is very imp.. some ppl here are saying that director could used a bigger amount, but i think director has that much common sense... BUT he went beyond that...Common sense says a director who can make such a movie definitely knows why he used 10 rupees 10 rupee note is symbolic of the father's condition.. that he is so destitute and desperate that he can only manage 10 rupees as bribe.. now the receptionist accepting 10 rupees - it might be that she was so much moved or her her inner conscious evoked that she felt like helping. 10 rupee not was not a bribe, it was an emotion, a desperation...
Raman Kumar I have not even checked it's 10rs... But your description moved me a lot. It's not a bribe at all. It's all our helplessness.. our capabilities. Thanks Man.
For all those who didn't get the movie: They wanted to go to UK because current situations (in the film) in Pakistan are very bad and they are afraid that they won't be able to survive here. So, that's why they decide to go to UK to start a new life, away from war and for that they prepare their daughter to act as if she has cancer but in reality she's healthy. The official in UK Embassy falls in there trap and gives them VISA but then he sees foundation (makeup) which her mother forgets by chance in the waiting hall and he gets that it was all a plan. Surprisingly, he doesn't react and understands their situation and happily lets them go to start a new life in UK.
What a bullish analysis you got here, Situation relate to india not Pakistan. At 9:29 She looked at hanuman picture and at 9:43 Saleem kisses his Talisman ( Taveez). Out of religion marriage issue here. Society does not accept and wanted to kill them.
Place Pakistan. The main issue here was that the woman in spite of marrying a Muslim, didn't convert to Islam. Her retaining her Hindu identity resulted in all the threats she receives. Hence, migration.
One thing which I will always be very grateful for : that I'm born in the largest democracy on this World and I shall appreciate the freedom and the comforts that our country has given me. This is also a silent promise that we Indians must live for each other and try not be the a**holes that we are sometimes ;)
I am a Pakistani, supposed filmmaker lol, I just love this film. I know for a fact that it is never too easy to portray a true picture of a country that has been wrongly portrayed to you for the entire time but in anyway, it was a great storytelling content. Just one observation, Urdu language should've had more command over because certain words used in the film are not spoken in Pakistan at all, the Urdu grammar is very much taken into account in Pakistani society. Rest, I totally appreciate your masterpiece.
Fahad Kahut you can make similar films in your own country next time. that will be more realistic. you can take care of proper dialect of urdu as well. why make a film in India! I guess it was not a collaboration. not sure though. good luck for the film director in you.
Thank you Mou, I am sorry I dont really get the last part in your comment, we are not making any film in India. It was just my observation and the director of the film was kind enough to speak to me about it. Nevertheless, I like this film.
Totally Agree to what Fahad has pointed out and to me as well it felt more like a 'Purani Dilli Zuban' and not Pakistani urdu dialect. That though can not take away from the excellent storytelling. Loved the twist in the end and even without the stats the simple fact that a parent is risking everything for a better upbringing of their daughter is very heart warming and aptly told as well. Congrats to the entire team. Jignesh, the use of urdu words was quite scarce and even pronunciation. A simple example, go to 3:30, when the father enters and she says, "Oh Aap 'ho' ", I feel it should have been, " Oh aap hain ". The difference is in choice of words and pronunciation both. Zuban and Zaban mean the same but make an almost geographical difference in cases like this. But lets not critical, sorry for the long post. LOVELY FILM.
Thank you for this beautiful story. How beautiful this world could be if we have love respect & compassion for each other. This story ends with a heartfelt message.
Happy watching them getting to go UK. They are lucky enough. Not everyone get that opportunity. Many people die during such conditions. I feel absolutely sorry for that. The lady is the mastermind of their plan and that little girl is damn cute. Overall, felt happy to watch this.
Outstanding indeed. Let's not pick upon small things like ten rupee note etc. Director has done a superb job; sensitive with dignity of the characters well chiseled. Actors have done world class nuanced portrayals, especially Shweta Prasad. All of you have a great future ahead of you. God bless.

Truly great cinema in a short pocket film.lovely lyrics and singing. Well used cinematically to deepen emotions that cannot possibly be expressed through words or body postures.
salaah khayr when one cannot raise a baby then better kill than cry all through life for being unable to provide a living for the baby1. Rather than leaving them out on roads or tqi orphanages where they either end up as prostitutes or thieves
Meri wife deeksha seth ek hindu hai hume death threats mil rhe the majbooran hume gumnaami ki zindagi jeeni paD rhi thi maine Allah se aur usne bhagwaan se pray kiya aur aaj hum apne bachon ke sath mehfooz hai...i am from Hyderabad
Wow what a beautiful movie... concept, direction, acting everything was just perfect... humanity shown by that man touched me...and freedom... that the most important thing of life... it's best movie ever
She clearly told him the honest truth.... smiling and saying no when he asked her about her cancer..... but seeing their financial and security status, the guy gave them the visa regardless.... due to the innocence of the child, he thought they deserve a better life. That’s why, even after seeing the dark make up the mom used for creating fake dark circles around the eyes of the girl, he still wished them good luck. It’s a portrayal of humanity at its finest
This is the reality of most of the southeast country...I have experienced it,coz I am from Nepal..people want to leave their country and want to settle in US Or UK for their better future...
Lovely movie with lovely message to all who thinks that country is first but this movie shows that humanity comes first and all other things comes after it. Please save humanity, only then you are able to save your country. If anyone mind is full with hatred thoughts for others, It means that person is mentally sick and needs immediate medical help because humanity comes first for a human being.
An excellent, inspirational theme of love for mankind. Thank You! The film aptly teaches that the path to universal peace, harmony and survival is by widening our circle of love and compassion. Accepting others as they are, creates the opportunity to connect with other cultures. By respecting one another, we can put aside our differences and focus on common interests and mutual benefit.
Indeed Sad that it always have to be some eastern country India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, etc.. China and so on that always see developed Nations to be more promising for a livelihood than their home. Thought provoking. Really sometimes make people ponder what did these countries even achieved in so many years after independence from the British.
I became speechless, my brain was empty ....and started thinking of refuges all over the world.....sometime thank U is a small word...but if i can replace that word ..i will let u know..😥
Very beautiful concept... the deep message was conveyed well. Millions of innocent people have to leave their homes and families behind every day every minute to escape from war and bloodshed. They can only pray for a better life ahead in other countries... I hope countries like the UK and USA are open to these refugees and welcome them.
The background story is real for our country till 2014 and then our agencies and securities personnel turn the table 360 degrees. And today 2022, the foreign-funded terrorist groups are totally eliminated and our country is on a safe list in 2020 for tourists. Salute to every defender. But that kid in the film, they don't understand the wars. They are flowers of the burning gardens. And we need to make the garden safe (doesn't matter where we live) We need to make every garden safe for our future flowers.
