"The Damned Don't Cry" is a song by the British pop group Visage, released as a single by Polydor Records in 1982.It was the first single from Visage's second album, The Anvil. The cover art to the 7" single (seen to the right) differed from that of the 12" single, which featured the same models but without Steve Strange. "The Damned Don't Cry" was a chart success, becoming Visage's second highest-charting single in the UK (#11) and the band's last international hit."The Damned Don't Cry" was the second Visage video directed by Midge Ure. It was shot in Tenterden, Kent, at the Tenterden Town railway station and recreates the 1930s atmosphere and mood of the Orient Express. The clip was included on band's 1986 video release, Visage.

One of the greatest, though underrated, dance euro-sound bands ever! Btw it was a project of Ultravox with all the same personnel + frontman Steve Strange. R.I.P. among the Moon and stars, Steve.

My favorite track from Strange & company. They were so ahead of the times. What I would give to rewind to 1980 and push play again.. The best of times & music..

Those were GREAT DAYS my friend!!!! Nobody can understand the feeling of seeing countless teenagers of your generation experimenting & looking VERY DIFFERENT from the usual sloppy look of the 1970s. Suddenly boys were wearing black eyeliner & black leather & cool suits with silver buckles & earrings. IT WAS A FANTASTIC TIME!!!!

Get a taste of that heavy fog in the cold night! I love it when the train rolls into the station; the first things I see are what look like antique Guerlain bottles. Oddly effective is how the illusion appears to be a tangible thing within our reach, almost 3-dimensional, once the train rolls out. All my senses are engaged in the lingering fog. “Time to close my mind and drift off to other scenes, lose myself in glossy pages, dull magazines.” Doomed to relive these strangely pleasurable moments looping forever, the damned don’t cry.
