In my opinion, this is VERY high-quality singing and music. It takes a special listener to understand some of the many complexities in putting this piece together (critics - please take note!). It takes little skill to be critical (simple Ignorance will do). I can't think of may singers that could sing like this. This is GREAT!
Some things that give you pleasure, you want them to be lingering, staying for long. That's the difference between gulping a whole gulab jaam at once or making small small pieces of it and soaking yourself in that pleasure. Of course we all love the original version of "Tu Jaha Jaha Chalega" and there are many like me who play it in loop, because we can't get over it. This is a song based on Raag Nand, composed by the great “Raaginiyon ka Baadshah” Madan Mohan. This singer here has *not* done good justice to it though. A bit of butchering here and there. Simply put, this rendition lacked soul.
There is a big difference between Sur vs performance! It no doubt is a great performance and I know he is a good ghazal singer but SUR needs to be worked on, the soul to any singing vocal is not in the right place as a listener
