Couldn’t wait for this episode Dee & Jay. It didn’t disappoint. That sky tram looked amazing, something I would have loved to do! So jealous now! What a beautiful tour. Really enjoyed the falls. Thank goodness your tram was covered being in the rainforest. Wow those frogs were very interesting. We’re there any poisonous? Butterflies 🦋 how cool. 😮 Dee, it’s your new favorite place! But I know you love your 🐳’s in Alaska right… unfortunately I couldn’t handle those snakes!!! Monkeys! Took me a moment to see the crocodile but finally got it. What a great tour! What a colorful pier. Thanks for sharing your experience guys! I’ve got to look at your schedule see if you’re in reach for another cruise near me again. Chat soon guys.. ❤❤ Jeffrey
Did I hear a woman say “there weren’t supposed to be stairs and we just had to use 6 steps? Look, 6 steps??” She must’ve been a fun one to be on an excursion with!
Haaah, I think that's because when we first arrived, they advertised a trail with 300-something steps or a trail with no steps, but I think we had to take those extra steps to detour and see the bird and the hummingbird nest, which was a surprise and not part of the normal tour anyway. Too funny!! :P
We don’t usually mention cost in video form because the rates can change in the future when folks may stumble across this vlog years down the road, ha ha… it was $75/pp when we went, then you pay the Veragua entrance fee of about $75/pp more by cash or card when you get to the park.
Oh my gosh! Beautiful pictures Dee! Makes me want to go to Costa Rica! Love that you captured a dragonfly in one if the pictures! And to see sloths and monkeys in the wild- amazing!
Love how you are giving your food reviews at the end wrap up of each day. I like it there instead of when you’re eating. Keep it up! Great pics of good and then reviews at end.
Hi Dee and Jay, I will be at Puerto Limon in a few weeks. I plan to use Relax Day Tours for the same excursion as the one you took in the video. Did you pay Relax Day Tours when you arrive at Puerto Limon cruise port? did you pay cash or pay with credit card? Also, at Veragua Rainforest Park, did they take credit card?
Is it possible for you to post a list of independent tour guides you have used from past sailings. I'm specifically looking for suggestions for Barbados, St Lucia, St Kitts, Martinique, St Croix, and Puerto Rico. Thanks 🙏🏾
We've got that info bundled in with our dedicated Port Guide series to some degree (www.parodeejay.com/portguides) but I've also been working on a blog post to cover just that... hopefully ready soon!! :P ~Jay
We were in Limon a few days ahead of you on NCL. We did a ship excursion that had a bus/train/canal/mini rain forest walk itinerary. We enjoyed it. We've really lucked out with NCL excursions and been on some great tours.
My hubs and I will be on this ship in a few months and we just watched all your videos after taking two edibles and our minds are blown. Eloquent. Informative. Looooooved youuuuu guys!
Access to the rainforest park would probably be fine. The aerial tram may be good if you’re able to take a few steps across the threshold to get to a bench, but it didn’t appear that there was any roll-on option. The canal ride probably wouldn’t work very well though again without a good number of steps on an unstable surface. I’d probably give this type of tour a no overall from an easy accessibility standpoint. ~Jay
Thankee! I think we talked about the nests in the vlog, though it might have been hard to hear. There's a certain type of bird where the male builds the hanging nests, and if the female doesn't like it, he has to build new ones until she approves!! :P
Fantastic day! Totally enjoyed it. Was your tour through RC? If you said it I missed it. We’re those bat nests hanging? I thought so but did not hear you say it. The ones where the wife was picky on the one she accepted. (Typical restate hunting). Thanks so much.
No, it's independent through Relax Day Tours, as stated in the title and description. We usually try to put that info there to make it easy to find, with links to the tour company. Those nests were bird nests, oddly enough!! :D
We really haven’t travelled since the pandemic nor have we ever cruised before. I have really enjoyed seeing cruising and travelling through your videos. The two of you are so upbeat and positive, taking everything in your stride. We are now booked to do a small Canadian tour followed by an Alaskan cruise. I hope we can follow your example and have an amazing experience by keeping everything positive. Bless both of you.
This is going to be a strange question but here goes…..were there biting insects in Costa Rica? Your visit looked like fun. But the jungle aspect of it makes me think MOSQUITOS. I am a mosquito magnet and was eaten alive in Jamaica (even with Deep Woods Off) and I suffered for days afterward as I have an almost allergic reaction to bites.
Thanks so much! No plans to reopen to new inquiries as of right now, though she can accept transfers of most recently-booked cruises which would then make you a current client!! :D ~Jay
What a GREAT vidoe! Loved that excursion, will definetly be doing that next time I go there, thanks for the tour operator recommendation... Dee, your photos were beautiful!!!
Catching up on this series as yesterday I returned... From 2 weeks in Costa Rica (including 2 nights at Tortuguero)! I loved it just as much you seemed to. It's great how much you saw in just one day.
I have been to Liberia Costa Rica (Dry side of the Country). And it has the same relaxing feels. One thing I remember is the hosts/tour guides and the people in general are so welcoming. Glad you had a great experience!
One of the excursions from the ship was like an hour late because of traffic there. They had a police escort to the ship and the bus driver came down the dock and dropped them off at the entrance to the ship. He got a standing ovation for "door to door" service.
Youre making me want to take one of those rainforest tours! Greece was going to be our next cruise but I think we'll make it one with Costa Rica on the itinerary. Thanks for the great vlogs!
We loved our canal and rainforest tour in Limon. It’s a developing port with so much potential. I think people pass on itineraries with Limon because they have lower expectations.
Loved watching your tour in Costa Rica.we road down that canal when we went we took. A little train on our tour and hurd all the howling monkeys and saw the sloughts.have a great cruise !!!!
Costa Rica is one of my favorite places. Have been to Punta Arenas and the Guanacaste area on the Pacific side..absolutely stunning. The howler monkeys were stinkers because they liked to throw things at people. Great video, fun to watch. 💙
hi dee and jay! you guys already know about this but on the last video I put a comment in the reply was acting like you guys and said message me in telegram I have something special for you and its a scam. Just a heads-up because I don't want anyone accidently getting scammed.
Those "message me on telegram" scammers have been targeting hundreds of youtubers in the last few weeks. The best thing viewers can do is to report them to youtube.(the 3 dots menu to the right of the comment)
