Money Game part 1 is amazing. There is imagery (bags over the head) and verse (finger on the trigger of a money game; rain rain rain) that are incorporated into the next 2. Part 2 is a lyric video (utterly compelling) and then Ren sings an acapella version (oh so beautiful). The lyrics in Part 2 are just phenomenal; he teaches you basic economics and the greed of humanity. Part 3 of course you just saw. I suggest you react to parts 1 and 2 together in a separate video. Next, react to 'Seven Sins' off his recent album. At the end, Ren stresses the calamity of GREED as the most impactful of the deadly sins; it is also a relevatory expose of his pain from disease (Lyme Disease; bitten by a tic) and psychosis as a result. Finally, 'Hi Ren' is a masterpiece that started the vast majority of Ren's fans off with a view on his genius. React to that too please.

Others might have mentioned this, but Money Game 3 just won Best Music Video, Best Director (Ren Gill and Sam Perry-Falvey) and Honorable Mention for Cinematography at the International Music Video Awards in Budapest. Here's my take; along with factual statements made by Ren & others, on the messaging & performative aspects of Money Game Parts 1,2 & 3. Hope this helps you in absorbing the overall message Ren is portraying.✌❤ Part 1: is in a similar format of Ren's Tale Jenny & Screen trilogy & Hi Ren, which are live performance pieces (& yes 1 & 3 were live recordings "referencing the BTS video for pt.3") that are shot in 1 take.🤯 Ren has commented that this was his first attempt at this style of video production & it took them over 140 takes to get the shot right for pt.1 getting the choreography & music to flow seamlessly. In essence, Ren is introducing everyone to the hypocrisy in the west & the seeds that have been sown around the world that created this money game & how we all live blind to it with a metaphorical money bag tied around our heads. 💰🤑💰 Part 2: is a studio recording were Ren & his videographer Samuel Perry-Falvey have created a artistic lyric video to assist in the messaging/storytelling. Pt.2 shows the money game through a narrower lens of corporate greed & government corruption & its effects on our present day society.🔥🔥 Part 3: Is Ren's magnum opus, once again returning to his one shot live performance format, with Samuel Perry-Falvey behind the lens, but this time on a grander scale then anything they've attempted to date. Instead of just singing the hook from 1'&"2 "Point the mirror at ourselves, we're all part of this old money game" he chooses to show us through Jimmy's life & everyone around him who have their own money bags tied around there heads. 🤯🤯 Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber shared Money Game 3 on his Instagram and said Ren is one of the best storytellers he has seen in a very long time. Film maker Jonathan Hiller was blown away by the story, as well as the cinematography & choreography. By the end of the video Jonathan say's " this is the genius of Ren, by the end of the video his art transcended into a spiritual realm. Ren's use of negative space is captivating & MG3 was utterly transformative".

Ren is music, artistry and creator. Everything he does surpasses any other artist! I never knew talent until I found him last year!

It took one take. (There is a cut behind the wheelchair to allow the string quartet to get in place and also to get rid of the smoke from the smoke grenade). They couldn't do any other takes as the "rain" would have made the floor wet and ruined Ren's bespoke suit (he only had one).

The nearest we’ve seen to this is a stage musical - it’s a short Hamilton or South Pacific. It’s weird how so many who are normally all about the music, become stuck captivated that they forget they’ve just watched a rap over a grand piano, and a string quartet - who does that? 🔥🔥🔥 Welcome to the Renaissance! Ren is my favourite artist of all time. I say artist because he is a multifaceted diamond! From singing (all styles) to rapping (bars/flows/schemes for days), Bardcore (story telling) beatbox, makes his own beats, scatting and a multi instrumentalist (guitars, bass, drums, melodica and more). On top of that he is the most beautiful human being inside and out who has been through and continues to go through absolute hell. He’s 33 from Anglesey, Wales originally but spent most his life in Brighton, England. He’s been living in Calgary, Canada all year receiving intense medical treatment for his brain damage and mast cell activation disorder amongst other things. He started off making beats at 12 and selling CDs then moved on to busking. He was part of a band called Trick The Fox and was signed to Sony but they didn’t renew the contract after his health deteriorated. He then started The Big Push. They went on hiatus the end of last year after 5 years partly due to his move to Canada and also because the other members are also soloists and were moving around too. I highly, highly recommend going further down the Ren rabbit hole he is a talent of trauma, tyranny, and triumph. Currently he is struggling with Lyme disease and receiving treatment in Canada despite his illness he still provided the world with this musical magnum opus. Yet, this is by far not the only wonderious one take from this Welsh barmy bard of Brighton. the video was a one shot, but not a one-take. they have a cut when the camera was behind the trollychair. They need it to setup the watering system. Money Game 1 is a one-take, but they need a lot of tryes to finish it. Ren estimated it by arround 160 trys. But they did not count it, so may be less than that. But if you want to see it, you will realise the numbers can be accurate. The camera is anytime in the right position.

You really should have done the Money game series in order, MG 1 is great MG 2 the lyric video is the one to watch and that’s better then you get MG 3 which as you have seen is a full 3 hour movie condensed into 9 minutes with just a piano and a string quartet and Rens talent. I hope you do more Ren in future he is multi talented

Awesome reaction! With Ren you never know what you are going to get. Rap? Hiphop? Bardic storytelling? The only thing I know when I listen to something of his for the first time is I will walk away looking at life a little bit differently

Not a drone. It's one of those massive fully articulating units that the camera person has to be strapped into. There is a cut when the camera goes behind the wheelchair. Because of the water, time they had the building, and the fact Ren only has the one suit, they only had one chance at that part.

"Hi Ren" is the beginning of the Ren Rabbit-hole. It is a deep rabbit warren well worth exploring. By the way, Money Game Part 3 just won Best Music Video in the IMVA International Music Video Awards 2024, MG3 also won in Best Director Music Video category, and had an Honourable Mention for Best Cinematography. MG3 is performed live with just one cut that occurs at the wheelchair transition to the string quartet. They had to remove the lapel mic from Ren's suit, place it in the knot of his tie and waterproof it for the rain scene. Apart from the opening piano piece by Ren, all the lyrics, the piano score, and the strings score are all written by Ren. He co-directs with Samuel Perry-Falvey the master videographer behind much of Ren's work. Great reaction. Thanks

I already just commented on a different reaction video earlier, but I've been doing it since I watched Ren and there's certain aspects of this that nobody seems to be grasping or at least in my mind I figured it out. No one else did the way he starts the story from beginning, middle and end is the way folk songs used to be done. Now the way that he portrays it with his own imagery within his self-produced videos is what they call performance art and no one seems to comment on it that I'm right or I'm wrong, but it doesn't matter what style of singing his doing. It's the storytelling that brings out the folk artist in them and then to creativity of being able to explain it through visual means and his performance makes it performance, art and folk. No one seems to ever reply to me. If I'm right or if I'm wrong, I could be the world's biggest idiot, but I love all his songs

Camera is on a body rack mounted on the camera man which you can flip around...no drone...and the whole video are 2 one takes put together - the cut is when the camera is surrounding the wheel chair and then he is sitting in front of the string ensemble.

To be fair, it's not like he's got anything you'd call a "hairstyle". . Ah. Probably should have watched Parts 1 & 2 first. . Sick Boi hit #1 for much the same reason Killing in the Name by Rage Against the Machine hit Xmas #1 in the UK in 2019, 30 years after it was released. Many people bought his album *specifically* so it would hit #1. Don't get me wrong, it's a brilliant album and totally deserved to hit #1 and stay there, but under normal circumstances, it probably wouldn't have. . Many of his videos are one-takes. Money Game Part 1 took something north of 180 goes to get it right. The only cut in this video is when the camera passes behind the wheelchair, to allow for the string quartet. If you're interested, I think he's got a BTS video on his channel. . Oh, and I'm pretty sure it was filmed with a modified steady-cam.

Watch everything Ren. His busking with The Big Push... live and also small settings.. there you get to hear the joy of life. His one takes are often "darker" but absolutely needed. One of the most important artist I've hear in my decades until this glorious, dirty spinning rock in space. He and his crew have it locked in. And Money Game 1 & 2 were spaced out and recorded w lesser quality mics and such.

There is more sung music coming out in spring, and most likely one album and one demo tape collection (which most of us would call an album) with collaborations. One of them is an ode to his inspirations, including the Police.

It is a one take, he is obsessive about details and practices under film I believe until their final film released can be a one take. I believe this one had one cut at the black back of wheelchair moment for something that had to do with the rain.

Where do you start with Ren he is a modern day minstrel/bard. Covers every genre of music out there, but stamps his unique artistic brillance unto each song/performance.

The camera is not on a drone. It's on a rig held by the cameraman (Samuel). There are some behind-the-scenes footage for this. The rig is basically a stick with a rotatable head on it to which the camera is atrached.
