Visions from Lionel - New ZW-L Transformer 

Shipwright1918 how big is your layout? Big layout requires a bigger transformer, my layout is 6x16. I have an MRC pure power AC controller. It puts out 130 watts, unfortunately the newer engines seem to require more power so I just upgraded to a MTH Z4000, that puts out 400 watts. As good as the MRC was it’s not cutting the mustard anymore. This new transformer will improve my power tremendously. The reason I went with the Z4000, I have mostly all MTH locomotives, and as nice as the ZW-L is it’s overkill for me. I’ll keep my old transformer for accessory lighting. If you built your layout for under 800 bucks then it’s probably small. The newer advanced trains have all the bells and whistles so most people want to run Legacy/Command
