Heya Wow. Yes that must have been an experience 25 years ago. The tourism industry is booming and there are so many new and improved hotels to stay in. I love the resort experience but I adore the local rural living even more. Sometimes about the simple things close to nature that is just so soul soothing. Where do you live now? Do you visit Jamaica often?

I'm actually in Philly born and raised we went with someone who has family in Jamaica and we even went to the bush to visit family someone climbed and got me a coconut it was just a GREAT experience I love Jamaica and the people just wonderful I have always hung with "the Jamaicans" from school until now wonderful people culture everything!!!thanks for even responding 👍👍
Hi Cristina I'm pleased that you enjoyed it. It all depends on what you are looking for. The mornings are quieter and more relaxing if you want to meditate with less distractions. The mid to late afternoon is more lively if you want a more party vibe 😁 The evenings are as you can imagine more full on. They had music playing loudly at the bar when i went there in the mid afternoon. The changing rooms were well maintained as well which is a bonus.
Question if I cruise to the Montego bay cruise port can I take a taxi from that port straight to the beach? And if so do you think it’s safe? Ill be cruising soon and i really wants to go with my teenager son.😊
Hiya. I am not sure but if my memory serves me correctly, you can. It will be a chartered taxi which is safe enough but always a risk. There is no direct taxi but they would be happy to do a solo trip at a premium 😅 Don't let them over charge you though.
I lived there from 70-72. I remember when they were building that hi-rise @ 11:44. We used to buy candy downstairs. when to Doctor's Cave every day after school. In the summer you get those afternoon storms. we lived up at bogue hights on the other side of the bay. long long time ago.
Hey Dr That's a fascinating memory of your time living there. It much have been fun. My step dad just visited for a couple of weeks and he loved it. He was at the beach almost everyday 😂 Where do you live now?
@@TheMalcolms7 I live in Florida now, but was in NY and LA for some time as well. Last time I went back was in 1982 with a friend to visit his family in Mobay for a few days, then took a mini bus to Stony Hill in St. Andrews for about a month, then over to Negril to party for a week, lol. Great time with his family though, just eating great food and chillin in the hills and crystal clear streams with his family and old neighbors. I wish I could go back to those days. Real good times I miss very much.
