It would have helped if the presenter actually stated the towns where she visits. The Pendle Heritage Centre is in Barrowford, approximately 5 miles south south east of Pendle Hill, and just west of Colne, where the whole sorry saga of the Pendle witches truly started. Saint Mary's parish church is in Newchurch (4 mile from Barrowford), where you will also find the Witches Galore shop. The presenter then teleports to Downham Village, which truly had little to do with the Pendle Witches directly. Downham is over on the north side of Pendle Hill, whereas most of the Pendle Witch saga occurred on the south side. Downham is very quaint and pretty, and was the location for the 1961 film 'Whistle Down the Wind' starring a young Hayley Mills.
Elysiumfire: I think she must have been using a "Star Trek transporter"......one minute she's in Newchurch, then she's in Downham and then she's in Barley "ready for my climb up Pendle Hill" (she says @3.10, as she walks off in the wrong direction).
And now there's a Doctor Who episode with Lancashire Witches! Seems to match up with the actual sceenery quite well for what they could manage! Even more reasons to travel to the real place.
its such a shame that despite the beautiful countryside, amazing history the towns like colne, nelson, Burnley are rough nasty run down dirty hovels and not at all somewhere you'd want to spend your time.
i live in burnley and its not all nasty and hovel like as you describe yes bad areas like anywhere else but the vast majority is nice you obviously didnt take the time to really look around lots of great places to visit if you bother to look
