I will keep my bags packed to come when y'all come back. Really enjoyed Nashville, and everything covered. On and has been on my own Bucket List for many years, May be Texas Borned and Raised but Nashville Country Classics are buried in my blood. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful video. Another musical background hit selected by Tom. Good JOb! Grammy Kay
Great video, guys! We visited Nashville in the Bicentennial year, 1976. We stayed with friends who showed us around. We toured the Ryman, the Parthenon, the Hermitage (Andrew Jackson's mansion), Vanderbilt University (my bff's alma mater), the Broadway music scene (much less touristy), and Opryland amusement park (long closed), We remember eating at a fabulous all-you-can-eat fried chicken restaurant that reminded us of the San Jacinto Inn. Not sure if that's still around... My bff's husband was a bartender at TGI Friday's. Let's just say we sampled MANY of his concoctions. It was July and as hot and humid as Houston. I would go back in the fall season. Nashville has certainly changed in 47 years. Thanks for showing us some new attractions as well as the staples we did not have time to see, like the Capitol. Happy travels! ❤🎸🎵
Hey Tom & Stacee. Billy here from Myrtle Beach ..Watching your Nashville video made me home sick.I syayed full time at the park you stayed in., full time in my Class C in 2009. The park then was called. Yogi Bear. I was a police officer for 27 years in Nashville.I met my second wife while on patrol at the Valley Market. The Opryland area use to me my zone. Spent 43 years in Nashville. Good luck on your future travels.
Hi Billy, first of all thanks for your service to the folks of Nashville and thanks for taking the time to tell us about it, this is the kind of comment that keeps us going! 😊

We are in NC but love Texas !! Thanks Rick and Debbie
Great video! I have been to Nashville a few times, but never long enough to do any of the things that you were able to do. You talked about the intertwine of Tennessee and Texas history. My g-g-g-g-grandfather was friends with Sam Houston, and he served in the Tennessee legislature and was a district judge. He then moved to Texas, where he because Attorney General for the Republic of Texas. If you ever get to the Hermitage (Andrew Jackson's home), take a look at one of the little tables in his bedroom. I'm not sure if it is still there, but there was a tobacco pipe sitting on the table that was made by my g-g-g-g-grandfather from a piece of the Alamo. He considered the Alamo as sacred grounds and visited it often. He made the pipe for President Jackson, and the original letter that accompanied the gift is in the Library of Congress.
This story is incredible, thanks for sharing it! We love this kind of history and need to look up your gggg-grandfather! Do know his name? Thanks again!
@@rvamericayall My g-g-g-g-grandfather's name was George Whitfield Terrell. My g-g-g-grandfather was Sam Houston Terrell...because Sam Houston asked George to name his son after him. 🙂
It was good to see the State Museum since all we could do was drive by it. ha. So much fun hanging out with you guys and it was a great way to kick off our first day of a 2 month trip. we always do a lot of laughing when we get together.
We love hanging out with you and Howard! Love the laughs and positive attitudes! Y’all truly know how to “Experience Life Don’t just Live It”! Safe travels! 😊
You should try to visit the Parthenon there in Nashville. It is a reproduction of the Greek temple in Athens, Greece. The main attraction is the statue of Athena....all gold.
Y'all should drive down to Jack Daniels and George Dickel take the tour and spend some time in Lynchburg TN, Tim's Ford state park and a few other areas around Tim's For have camp sites ... If you pass by Highway 82 and 55 send us a shout, we are big fans of yall
I know that everyone that comes to Tennessee wants to go to Nashville just from all the fame an glamour. But please don't think that my home state is just a reflection of Nashville cause it's not. There is over fifty waterfalls an state parks an we country folks very seldom even go to Nashville.
Your description of the Tennessee State Museum sounds like one where you come out “foot sore and brain dead” from the size and wealth of information. Y’all have toured many museums that you can apply this statement. 😂😂 Safe travels.
