As Parliament’s central building shuts down for a decade, we take a special look at what will be disappearing from the public eye. Reporter Blair Crawford looks at The Library of Parliament.
I had a chance to see this place years ago and it is absolutely breathtaking. Worth the visit and the time. The library is definitely the highlight of the entire tour.
@@piusx8317 Not really so! This library is secular and stands up very well against such libraries around the world. To be direct with you I find the churches of Old Montreal more than competitive with the Vatican structures. The interior of Notre-Dame Basilica Montreal is beyond words for me to describe. Totally breathtaking!
@@piusx8317 Why not just explain it? He said it was a beautiful library and then you said "seriously?" as if he had said something controversial or terrible.
8:10 Beautiful library... but the crown jewel has got to be that librarian (pardon me... the Director General of Info doc resource service). A Canadian take on the sexy librarian trope fantasy. My goodness... WAH WAH WEE WAH ... she sounds so smart, and I bet she speaks French too. She briefly takes off her glasses at 16:50
I am dying to go for a Parliamentary tour. I have a keen interest in the political process. I want to learn more and I would like to be more involved. But, I need to educate myself more and learn additional skills. I need to return to university. Currently, I need help please. Delighted with this video.
Centre Block is undergoing much needed restoration. The West Block was restored and upgraded first so Parliament will sit in the interim House of Commons in West Block for the next decade. By the way the interim West Block House of Commons is beautiful. Look for recent videos on RU-vid
Two errors here. First: I assumed that this was the English Parliament. Second: I actually shouted "why the fuck are their Americans in the Parliament's library?"
