Scotland, my second country.

Hi Roberta, I've visited Scotland only ones about a week ago. Both me and my wife decided to eventually move there...the decision was made within the first day of our visit. Now we're working towards finding jobs there! It's breath-taking how beautiful Scotland is and the people are just the friendliest and nicest people ever!

We hope you come back often.

The Glyders are amazing - so surreal. I loved hiking in Wales. Enjoyed The Glyders and Devil's Kitchen as much as Snowdon. The Cantilever stone's a fun shot.A stunning part of the world!

Well it really Scotland isnt very diverse in terms of landscapes compare it to Canada, Russia or the U.S and it has no chance. Canada for example has places that looks almost identical to the Scottish highlands and the coasts.

@@johonanandrewgomes7593 It is surprisingly diverse for its size. You're comparing it to the largest countries on eath which isn't quoite fair, but you will see more change driving 50 miles in Scotland than in the countries you listed.

VisitScotland do a great job don't they? I live there and still get a lump in my throat. Try the CalMac promotional videos (for Caledonian MacBraynes west coast ferries): they are a knockout with folk music, scenery and projection onto structures outdoors. Makes me feel I should erase my humble efforts!

Alban78BZH No I am a Scot, I just know Scotland has always ran to Frances aid every time they were invaded, but not once has France ever came to Scotland's aid. All France has ever done is use Scotland, and anybody with a grasp on history would know that. So fuck the auld alliance and fuck France.

Scotland IS a separate Country anyway, with or without Independence. We have our own Language, our own identity, our own culture AND, we are always voted the most friendly Country on the Planet. We`ve also been voted of having the best call centres as well because not only of our accents ( which People love to hear ) but, also we come across as being sincere and, honest and, we won`t bullshit you. I an proud to be a Scotsman and, consider myself a true Patriot as does everyone from whichever Country you come from. If, I`m ever lucky enough to visit the U.S. again, I`ll go much further. I was in Minneapolis / St Paul area in 2015 for a 2 week holiday. Nice friendly people and, the City was exceptionally clean. No Graffiti or, litter on the streets.

We have the perfect Climate in Scotland, its just the Weather that spoils it ! And, as for the Midges, they are our little secret in keeping the English from overstaying their welcome.! BUT, anyone else is always welcome. If you come back again Irma, remember to pack your Brolly - you`ll need it !

If, your travels to Scotland, take you to the Western Isles ( Isle of Harris, Think of Harris Tweed ) take the service bus to Tarbet and, stay at the Hotel there. From there, you can catch the Bus to Leverburgh but, disembark at Northton and, walk to the only Centre which deals with tracing Ancestry. Best to 1st book an appointment when you arrive at the Airport at Stornoway or, if you`re traveling by Ferry to Tarbet. I can`t remember the name of the Centre but, I`m sure someone there will be able to tell you more.

Did you enjoy the experience? I climb our hills every other weekend and try to get pictures for our local newspapers to use. I have also in the past kayaked on some of our lochs, rivers and on the sea (a handful of times). My new endeavour is trying to attract people to visit using RU-vid. We'll see how that goes. Hope we see you back soon!

Max Mad A 'binger'? I was not slagging Glaswegians merely pointing out my experiences of them, perhaps not all of the Glaswegians I have lived beside, worked with and met but a sizeable majority. I NEVER holiday in Glasgow, I holiday in Scotland, lots of different places over the years. Not sure what you meant by my mistake, other than getting involved in debates with drunk people.

Having been born near Glasgow, worked in Glasgow all my life, with 99% of my friends Glaswegians, I can tell you now, you`ll not find a more friendly and, helpful people on this Earth. WE go out of our way to help those less fortunate than ourselves and, proud to do it without expecting anything in return. There is an old saying " Like attracts like " Perhaps if you changed your attitude to those around you your life would look brighter. For sheer friendliness, you cannot fault Glasgow and, its people.

I live there but...I looked out my castle window this March morning and saw all the terraced street covered in 5" of snow! I take pictures/videos of the mountains every fortnight though since we are lucky enough to be within a couple of hours coach trip to great scenery (castles even closer!). Next stop; RU-vid!

Sorry my reply seems to have gotten messed a bit. Yes my castle is a mid-terrace house and we had a stack of snow this morning to wake up to! I climb fortnightly, the mountains being an hour or so away so easy to get to. Being retired I have now started to indulge myself in hobbies, the latest fab being RU-vid Scottish travel clips. Amateurish but interesting and I am learning so much as I go along! Try having a look. Only two so far. Try our beautiful country some time. You can fly direct to Glasgow or Edinburgh. :)

Agreed. We have tall hills and majestic mountains in Nepal. Sunrise and sunset views on Flatlands of Terai are something to behold but something in Scotland calls me there. Maybe it is the rolling hills and green pastures I really can't put my finger on it. I really want to visit this beautiful country, and I will, once I have enough money.

I just hope we get another chance at independence my friend. I'm 44 years old and hope that we get it in my lifetime sooner rather than later. I spent every moment i was awake campaigning in some shape or form and loved every moment of it. The air was electric with excitement, but the day after the vote there was a black cloud over us. I live in Australia. Luckily I can pretend to be in Scotland sometimes with the beaches and mountains especially to the south where it gets cold and stormy but It's still not Scotland.

Everyday, I like to sit in George Square in Glasgow`s City Centre and, read my Paper, and, just People watch, sometimes I get a " Victim " to sit beside and, tell them of places to visit or, places around Glasgow they should not miss - in fact, last " Summer " on one of those rare days where the Sun actually shone, I met an Australian Tourist who parked herself beside me on a Bench. Within a few moments, I had her falling off her seat with laughter.She hand`t long to stay as her Coach was about to leave for Northern Ireland. Her friends and, Sister came along to retrieve her and, I was introduced to them all. I was relating stories of my life here in Glasgow, the People I meet everyday and, this is where the laughter came from. When her Coach passed, I got a toot on the Horn and, a wave from them all.I`m sure they`ll be back oneday and, if they do, I`ll still be sitting in the Square, reading my Paper, waiting on my next " Victim "
